Congregational Notices

1.  Small Groups and Prayer Times. The Program for the rest of the years is available along with bible study books. Along side the fortnightly bible studies we hold a prayer meeting each week, if not during the week due to bible studies or another event then we meet at 8am on Saturday morning in the Minister’s room.

2.  “It takes a whole church to raise a child” started on Sunday 24th September at 6pm. If you enjoyed or missed this then put the next date (Sunday 29th October in your Diary) The Kirk session have planned this series of monthly evening services at 6pm on the 4th Sundays. Invitation leaflets are available on the tables and from your district elder. As we seek to encourage younger people to grow up as part of God’s family – both knowing Jesus and sharing his family the church. Join us as we consider the role which each of us can play. The format is video with discussion questions and the members of Kirk session will lead the discussion groups each evening

3.  PW Dinner in December at Moyola Golf Club, names and £5 deposit to be paid to Barbara or June before 29th October

4.  Orphan and Children’s Society collection envelopes will be available today. This worthy church cause supports children and families that are less fortunate. Your support is greatly appreciated. All envelopes to be returned by Sunday 26th November.

5.  Anyone interested in either “Handling the Word” course which helps us share God’s word https://www.presbyterianireland.org/Utility/Training/Handling-the-Word.aspx or the “Emerge” leadership development program for new and emerging leaders https://www.presbyterianireland.org/Events/Emerge.aspx please speak to Rev Curry. We already have one member interested in each of these great teaching and leadership initiatives by PCI.

PRAYER FOCUS

"For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!" 2Cor 4:17

Lord, we rejoice that you are sovereign and that in the midst of our disappointments, our trials and our losses you are in control seeking to lovingly prune us and shape us to become people who bring glory to you. Help us to trust in you knowing you will "restore our souls".Psalm23 Amen

Pray for Others

·  for those who are grieving for the loss of a loved one. Pray for God's healing and restoration in their lives

Pray for Congregation

·  for some more people with a heart for those who are strangers in this town would come forward to help with English Classes so that they can experience God's love and his care.

Pray for Community

·  for protection on the PSNI as they seek to protect us and keep law and order in our country and for wisdom in every interaction with the public.

Pray for PCI

for people who are in need of counsel to access PCI's new counselling service called Freshlight that has been launched recently (Presbyterian Ireland.org/freshlight)

Give thanks for volunteers who give of their time to counsel others and pray for the need for more volunteers west of the Bann.

Pray for World

·  for Stephen Cowan as he continues deputation in Ireland this month and for increase financial support to build the kitchen for the youth camps

·  for continued healing for Hannah Prince (Wycliffe, Thailand).

·  for all those who mourn the loss of loved ones and those who have been injured as a result of Storm Ophelia
