Planning a projection system involves several steps: choosing the screen size, viewing surface, screen model and control system if required. PART 1 GENERAL

1.4 SUBMITTALS

A. Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00 - Administrative Requirements.

B. Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:

1. Preparation instructions and recommendations.

2. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.

3. Installation methods.

D. Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, two complete sets of color chips representing manufacturer's full range of available colors and patterns.

E. Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, minimum size 6 inches (150 mm) square, representing actual product, color, and patterns.

1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Single Source Responsibility: Obtain each type of video conferencing background required from a single manufacturer as a complete unit, including necessary mounting hardware and accessories.

B. Coordination of Work: Coordinate layout and installation of video conferencing backgrounds with other construction supported by, or penetrating through, ceilings, including light fixtures, HVAC equipment, fire-suppression system, and partitions.

1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A. Do not deliver video conferencing backgrounds until building is enclosed and other construction where backgrounds will be installed is substantially complete.

B. Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.

C. Protect backgrounds from damage during delivery, handling, storage, and installation.

1.7 COORDINATION

A. Coordinate work with installation of ceilings, walls, and location.

2.2 MANUALLY OPERATED, SURFACE MOUNTED, VIDEO CONFERENCING BACKGROUNDS

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete from the following paragraphs the models of wall and ceiling mounted, manually operated, front projection screens not used on the project.

A. VCB Luma 2: Heavy duty, spring roller operated. Pentagonal, flat back design, steel case with scratch-resistant white textured finish. Universal hanging brackets for attachment to wall or ceiling. Case 22 gauge steel with matching end caps with integral roller brackets.

1. System Options:

a. Projected Adjustable Mounting Brackets with an 18-1/2 to 24 inch (470 to 610 mm) clearance from wall. White finish.

b. Fixed Projected Mounting Brackets with a 6 inch (152 mm) clearance from wall. White finish.

c. Fixed Projected Mounting Brackets with a 10/14 inch (254/356 mm) clearance from wall. White finish.

d. No projected mounting bracket required.

e. Floating Mounting Brackets for mounting screen to wall or ceiling.

a. Custom Printed – Digital images provided to Draper will be printed using CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) latex inks, which are UL ECOLOGO Certified and GREENGUARD GOLD Certified.

b. Chroma Key Blue - Blue flexible PVC surface for video production where you need the background to "disappear." Matte finish. Flame retardant, tear resistant, and wrinkle resistant. Offers excellent uniformity and consistent surface color edge to edge. Works effectively throughout 180 degree viewable range.

c. Chroma Key Green - Green flexible PVC surface for video production where you need the background to "disappear." Matte finish. Flame retardant, tear resistant, and wrinkle resistant. Offers excellent uniformity and consistent surface color edge to edge. Works effectively throughout 180 degree viewable range.

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

A. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

B. Verify rough-in openings are properly prepared.

C. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2 PREPARATION

A. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

B. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3 INSTALLATION

A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

B. Install video conferencing backgrounds with cases in position and relationship to adjoining construction as indicated, securely anchored to supporting substrate, and in manner that produces a smoothly operating unit with plumb and straight vertical edges and plumb and flat backgrounds when lowered.

C. Test manually operated units to verify that video conferencing background operating components are in optimum functioning condition.

3.4 PROTECTION

A. Protect installed products until completion of project.

B. Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
