REGIONAL FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR FOR NORTH

Responsible to: Fundraising Manager

Supervising: Fundraising Admin Assistant

Mosque and Islamic Institute Fundraiser

Purpose of the Post

The Fundraising Officer is responsible for all fundraising activitiesin accordance with the annual departmental work plan and Muslim Aid’s Strategic Plan in the Manchester region. You will be responsible for coordinating fundraising campaigns and activities and ensuring the use of volunteers in order to support fundraising activities.

Main Responsibilities

Campaigns and Fundraising

  • To co-ordinate campaigns and fundraising activities at the local level.
  • To establish and maintain contacts with donors, volunteers, local community leaders, mosques & external organisations.
  • To raise funds and awareness through contact with schools, mosques, businesses, community groups and the general public at large.
  • To investigate and implement new ways of increasing funds.
  • To identify and research local market – strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

Events

  • To organise and co-ordinate fundraising and promotional events
  • To assist in the co-ordination and implementation of national events when required.
  • To co-ordinate national events upon request from Head Office.
  • To attend, promote & raise funds for Muslim Aid at any event organised by other organisations.

Plans

  • To identify and research local donor market - strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
  • To develop, revise and implement local fundraising plan and adapt it to change in circumstances.
  • To create and implement campaign plans with Fundraising Manager and department.
  • To co-ordinate plans with other key personnel and volunteers.

Volunteer Network

  • To ensure a maximum number of volunteers are recruited to support Muslim Aid activities.
  • To ensure all volunteers working on Muslim Aid premises are properly registered and have completed the appropriate forms.
  • To maintain and update a volunteer database for your area.
  • Train and induct volunteers into Muslim Aid activities.
  • To co-ordinate and supervise volunteer activities.
  • To service the needs of volunteers both professionally and socially.

Administration

  • To ensure the maintenance of an organised and accessible filing and documentation system.
  • To ensure day to day running of regional office.
  • To fulfil all obligations with regard to the taking of donations.

Meetings & Communication

  • To participate in meetings associated with the work above
  • To ensure that decisions from any meetings or discussions are actioned.
  • To respond to enquiries.

To liaise with and make recommendations to management as required.

  • To communicate with external organisations including local authorities, mosques, etc.
  • To liaise with relevant departments and staff.

Other

  • To implement, monitor and review the Fundraising budget in the local region
  • To ensure the regional office is safe and secure at all times in line with security procedures at Muslim Aid.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post
