Vanilla Crumb Cake Recipes


1 pound vanilla wafers crushed 2 cups butter 2 cups granulated sugar

2 eggs 1/2 cup milk 1 can flaked coconut 2 cups coarsely chopped nuts

Cream sugar and butter together then add eggs one at a time.Fold in half of vanilla wafer crumbs then add milk, coconut and nuts.Fold in remainder of wafer crumbs.Grease a tube pan and place a piece of waxed paper in the bottom.Fill tube pan with mixture then bake at 350 for 1 hour and 10 minutes.


1 box white cake mix 4 eggs 2/3 c. milk 2/3 c. vegetable oil

CRUMBS: 4 c. flour 2/3 c. brown sugar 2/3 c. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tbsp. vanilla
3 sticks butter

CAKE: Beat ingredients together for 4 minutes. Grease a cookie sheet (with sides) and pour batter in cookie sheet. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool. CRUMBS: Mix flour, sugars and cinnamon. Melt butter. Add vanilla to butter and let cool somewhat. Pour butter and vanilla into flour mixture - crumbling with hands. Put crumbs on cake and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and then sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.


Makes one 3 layer cake.:

1/2 lb. butter 2 c. sugar 5 eggs 2 tbsp. baking powder 4 cups. graham cracker crumbs
1 c. evaporated milk 2 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. shredded coconut

Cream butter and gradually add sugar beating constantly. Add eggs and beat well. Mix baking powder with graham cracker crumbs; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk beating well after each addition. Beat 2 minutes. Add vanilla and coconut. Pour into 3 greased and floured 8 inch cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool.

ICING:1/2 c. butter 1 can (8 oz.) crushed pineapple, well drained 2 tbsp. flour

1 lb. powdered sugar 1 c. shredded coconut 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Melt butter in saucepan. Add flour and stir well. Add pineapple. Cook until thickened. Add sugar, nuts and coconut. Spread between and on top and sides of each layer cake.


1 1/2 c. flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk 1 tbsp. shortening (butter) - get 1 tbsp. from butter used in Crumbs

Cream all ingredients (thick).

CRUMBS: 4 c. flour 2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. cinnamon 1 lb. butter, melted (reserve 1 tbsp. for cake)

Mix all ingredients for crumbs with fork and set aside before you mix ingredients for cake batter. Cream all batter ingredients. Grease and lightly flour a jelly roll pan and spread batter evenly over bottom. Form crumbs and evenly distribute over top of batter. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. Sprinkle cake with confectioners' sugar before serving.



3 sticks butter 1 1/2 c. sugar 3 c. flour 1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream sugar and butter. Blend in flour and cinnamon. Roll up in wax paper and store in refrigerator overnight.

CAKE:1 stick butter 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1 1/4 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt1/4 c. milk

Cream butter, cream cheese and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Combine flour, salt, baking soda, and powder. Add a little at a time to sugar mixture with milk. Mix well. Grease and flour 9x13 inch pan. Put cake batter in, then crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until done.


1 box yellow cake mix 4 eggs 2/3 c. oil 2/3 c. milk

CRUMB MIXTURE: 4 sticks butter, melted 4 c. flour 2/3 c. brown sugar 2/3 c. sugar 1 tbsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. vanilla

Grease a 9x13 inch pan with shortening and dust with flour. Mix first 4 ingredients. Pour into pan. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Melt butter. Add remaining ingredients at little at a time until completely mixed and crumbly. Gently place crumb mixture evenly on top of partially cooked cake. Return to oven for additional 25 minutes. When cake is cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
