Value of the Term :Wellbeing.

It is very fitting that in the week that we are supporting Sport Relief, our Wellbeing theme is ‘Keep Active’.

Everyone knows that being active helps you to keep your body fit, but it also releases ‘happy hormones’ such as endorphins that make you feel better too. We have been doing extra ‘active’ activities at school, but why not log in to the ‘Fitter Future’ website and join along at home – if you have lost your child’s log in please contact us and we will re-issue.

Questionnaire

Thank you to all parents who completed the Governor’s Questionnaire to parents – we had over 50 responses, which are being collated. Your thoughts and opinions will then help us to identify any areas that you feel need improvement, and these can be added to our development plans as we move forward – Your views are important! One very positive statistic that has already come out is that, of those that responded, 100% of parents agreed that their children liked school!

Speech Competition

A huge well done to Tilly Jones and Todd Bedwell, who represented the school at the Chipping Campden Speech Competition this week – they both spoke so confidently and eloquently on the topic of ‘Lost’. The organisers said they felt the standard was the highest ever this year – so Tilly did exceptionally well to come second. Both children were an absolute asset to the school.

Easter Bonnet Parade and Easter Egg Hunt

Just a reminder that these annual events will be taking place next Thursday (the last day of term) – so get your glue, sellotape and paper out over the weekend if you want to enter the Easter Bonnet Parade.

Sports Relief

What a sporty lot of children we had in school today. I do hope the children enjoyed wearing their sports kits to school, and they did plenty of activity!! Thank you for any donations at the end of the day, which we will pass on to this wonderful cause.

Near Miss at Upper Rissington

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU SUPERVISE YOUR CHILDREN CAREFULLY ON THE WAY TO AND FROM SCHOOL – especially in the areas just outside school, where cars are regularly moving. We had a near miss outside the school this week, when a small child crossed behind a reversing car – thankfully nobody was hurt!

Curve:

Over the Easter holidays, CUR:ve, Upper Rissington’s community church, is running a 3 day, multi sports camp here at the school for children in years 3-6. The camp will run from 10am - 4pm on Wednesday 11th, Thursday 12th and Friday 13th April. With lots of different sports and activities, led by experienced, qualified coaches, each day is themed around a different character quality, explored through the Christian faith. For the sporty and not-so-sporty alike, the camp promises to be great fun. A flyer should have come home in book bags already, but for more info email or visit
