Scholarship and Course Information

In 2018, TACC scholarships are available, and will be awarded at TACC’s discretion.

Training Schedule

Scholarship winners will commence training on 12th February 2018.

Prior to course enrolment, candidates are required to attend an information and aptitude testing induction.

The course has both Tafe training and practical components. You will gain work placement experience in 3 areas of your choice: Light Vehicle, Auto Electrical, Auto Body workshops, tyre fitting, auto glazier, sales, parts or other automotive specific pathways.

You will receive two formal qualifications on successful completion of the program:

Certificate I

•AURAEA001 Identify environmental and sustainability requirements in an automotive service or repair workplace

•AURASA001 Apply automotive workplace safety fundamentals

•AURETR003 Identify automotive electrical systems and components

•AURLTA001 Identify automotive mechanical systems and components

•AURTTK002 Useandmaintaintools and equipment in an automotive workplace

•AURTTA001 Remove and tag steering, suspension and braking system components

•AURTTE003 Remove and tag engine system components

•AURLTJ003 Remove, inspect and refit light vehicle wheel and tyre assemblies

Certificate II Note: 3 units are directly Credit Transferred from Certificate I

•AURAEA002 Follow environmental and sustainability best practice in an automotive workplace

•AURAFA003 Communicate effectively in an automotive workplace

•AURAFA004 Resolve routine problems in an automotive workplace

•AURASA002 Follow safe working practices in an automotive workplace

•AURETR006 Solder electrical circuits and wiring

•AURTTA027 Carry out basic vehicle servicing operations

Note: You are required to supply your own full combination overalls, safety footwear and safety eyewear.

Terms and Conditions

All participants must complete the enrolment forms and aptitude testing prior to commencement. Participants under the age of 18 will need consent from their parent/s or guardian/s.

To be eligible for the TACC scholarship funding, participants must complete a minimum of 12 weeks undertaking the course and associated assessments. Failure to attend the designated classes, assessments and work placement components prior to 12 weeks will incur a fee of $500.00.

Upon completion of this course, participants who successfully complete will receive a certificate I and II in automotive or partial completion will ensure a statement of attainment for units completed.

Employment opportunities will be sought for all participants, but no employment opportunity is guaranteed.
