My Virtual Vacation

The first step in planning my virtual vacation was to decide where I would go and during what time of year. I decided to go to Boston, Massachusetts and to travel November 1 through 7. I was able to purchase my tickets through the website and book a package that included hotel, car rental and airfare for $982.19. On November 1, I left OaklandAirport for Boston, and after checking into my hotel, I visited the harbor front. I ate dinner at Anthony's, a seafood restaurant. The steak and seafood platter cost $28, including drink and tip.

November 2 (Day 2) was spent at the New England Aquarium. After having breakfast at the hotel (complimentary) and lunch at McDonald's ($5) I toured the aquarium. The aquarium has over 2,000 species of water wildlife in their building. The aquarium features "hands on" exhibits in their Edge of the Sea area, as well as smaller exhibits that spiral along a ramp to the top of the main tank. Admission to the aquarium was $19.95 and included an IMAX theatre showing of "Ocean Wonderland". Dinner was eaten at the Bull and Finch, the bar that served as the model for the TV show "Cheers". The menu features items such as "Sam's Starters" and "Diane's Desserts" named after the show's characters. I had one of "Rebecca's Recipes" the grilled chicken pasta primavera for $18 including drink and tip. I also purchased a set of the "Cheers" logo glasses for $20, tax included. After that, I returned to my hotel to get ready for Day 3.

At this point you would continue with attractions and meals for each day (Days 3-6).

Be sure to include ticket prices, souvenirs, and all meal costs.

On November 7 it was time to return home. After having my last breakfast at the hotel, I checked out and headed to the airport. After spending my week in Boston, I had spent $1785.75 of my original $2,000 budget.
