The Foundation’s Fundraising and Partnerships Team is responsible for raising the income and developing the partnerships required for the organisation to deliver its work. In the last financial year the team raised £2.6 million from a combination of sources, and has ambitious plans to grow these income streams over the coming years.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join a dynamic team in the role of Fundraising and Partnerships Officer. You will support the Foundation’s engagement and fundraising efforts from across all income sources, with a particular focus on trusts, foundations and institutional donors. You will also have responsibility for supporting the team through delivery of excellent process management, tracking and reporting.

To succeed in this position, you will have experience of fundraising from one or more income sources. You will be skilled at writing, have excellent IT and organisational skills, and would relish the opportunity to support a fun and ambitious team of fundraisers. You are proactive and ROI-focussed, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a strong team.

This is a full-time role based in central Londonstarting from June 2017 andreporting to the Fundraising and Partnerships Manager.

Remuneration will range from £20,000 – £25,000 per annum depending on experience.

Tasks and responsibilities may include:

The principal duties and responsibilities of the Fundraising Officer will be to:

  • Carry our prospect research, identifying and researching prospects across all income sources in order to identify new funding opportunities
  • Assist in the relationship management of donors, including – but not limited to – drafting emails and letters, developing proposals/project briefings and writing thank you letters and reports
  • Provide support to the team in relation to the Foundation’s Membership community, particularly with regards to organising events and writing/developing communications as well as information/materials
  • Have oversight and overall management of a portfolio of small trusts, foundations, corporates and individuals, typically giving less than £20,000 p/a
  • Have overall management of the supporter database, ensuring records are up-to-date and accurate
  • Oversee the fundraising team’s administration and internal systems, including managing the tracking of team income, budgets and KPI’s, taking team minutes, setting up excel and word templatesetc
  • Represent the Foundation at external events, as and when required
  • Other tasks as and when required

The selected candidate will need to demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:

Essential

  • Experience of working in a busy fundraising office across a range of income sectors
  • Demonstrable research and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with approaches to donor or customer stewardship and fundraising or relationship management best practice
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a range of donors or prospects through a variety of formats, including both proposal and report writing
  • Excellent IT skills, with a some working knowledge of using databases andMicrosoft packages, especially excel
  • Numerate, with an ability to analyse team targets/budgets, interpret and communicate data and financial information
  • Ability to manage conflicting deadlines and prioritise workloads
  • High attention to detail

Desirable

  • Experience of supporting event management
  • Track record of success in grant fundraising
