II. Organizational Background

The Puntland Ministry of Health (MoH), headquartered in Garowe, has ultimate oversight over Puntland’s five regional hospitals, Ten district hospitals, 84 maternal and child healthcare centers, 192 health posts, four mental health centers, and all other types of health-related facilities. The Puntland MoH comprises six departments: (1) Primary Healthcare; (2) Public Health; (3) Planning and development; (4) Human Resource (5) Medical Service (6) Administration and Finance.

III. Duties & Responsibilities

·  He/she will conduct awareness raising sessions among the community about HIV prevention
·  The Community health supervisor will need to arrange/conduct a focus group discussion FGDs on the HIV/Aids to gather crucial information of the HIV/aids prevention and care.
·  Will make daily and monthly supervisions to the Health Facilities that provides the ARV, PMTCT and VCT services.
·  To contribute a new ideas and fully collaborate with the National programme manager and the team.
·  Maintains regular communication with the Health Centers.
·  The person will prepare monthly reports according to his/her responsibilities.
·  Will also share the sensitive information to the concerned/related actors.
·  Promote prevention and appropriate care seeking behavior for HIV
·  Will perform any other assigned tasks as requested by his/her line manager.

VI. Qualifications

Level of Education: / ·  Must have at least three (3) years of diploma in nurse with minimum experience of 2 years.
·  Advanced diploma in Public Health is more preferable if (available).
Languages needed: / Expert knowledge of English and Somali.
Years of work experience in what area(s): / ·  Minimum 2 years of overall experience of Community/Social mobilization activities with the Health Promotions advocators.
General skills / Other requirements: / 1.  Good community mobilization and sensitizations.
2.  Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
3.  Ability to work without supervision, identify problems and solutions.
