UTA increases security with the use of fuel cards

  • Enhanced functions in the online customer portal
  • Self-management of the limits
  • E-mail alert when the credit limit has been reached

Kleinostheim – 7 September 2017. UNION TANK Eckstein GmbH & Co. KG (UTA) increases security with regard to service card use. For this purpose, the functions that customers can use exclusively in the online customer portal have had more functions added to them. As of now, the limits for using the UTA fuel card can be managed online.

The customer can change various parameters relating to service card use to suit his or her individual needs. In the online customer portal, for example, customers can decide the number of permitted transactions per day, the maximum transaction amount as well as when and in which countries the card can be used. The current usage of the credit limit is displayed graphically. When the credit limit has been reached, the UTA customer will receive an e-mail alert. All settings can be defined for both individual and multiple fuel cards at the same time.

"With these extensions, we are able to satisfy the wishes of our customers for more flexibility and individualisation," Volker Huber, CEO of UTA, stresses. "Similar to online banking, the limits can also be changed without any great effort at any time." That is why the online customer portal is available 24 hours a day.

"Flexibility with regard to self-administration is a key factor in increasing the security of the fuel card and limiting risk," Volker Huber said. Other security mechanisms include, as before, the PIN code query, the transaction control, alerts in the event of suspicious activities, and the immediate blocking of the card at the first signs of attempted fraud.
