MATRIX OPERATIONS

Entering Matrices into Calculator

To Delete a Matrix:From Main Menu move cursor to and Press EXE.

Use the cursor to move to the desired matrix. Press F1 (DEL)

Confirm you want to delete the matrix. Press F1(YES) to confirm.

To Define Dimensions:From Main Menu move cursor to and Press EXE.

Use the cursor to move to the desired matrix.

Type the number of rows then Press EXE.

Type the number of columns then Press EXE

The matrix will appear with zeros in each entry.

To Enter Matrix Values:After defining dimensions, the matrix will be on the screen.

Type the value for the entry and Press EXE

The cursor will be on the next entry. Type the value for the entry and Press EXE

Continue until all values are entered.

Matrix Operations with Calculator

To Add, Subtract, Multiply or Divide Matrices:

From the Main Menu move cursor to and Press EXE

Press OPTN to display the option menu.

Press F2 (MAT) then Press F1(MAT). “MAT _” with a flashing cursor will appear.

Enter the matrix name by pressing ALPHA A (or B, C, . . .)

Press the operation you want + (could also use - , , , exp, …)

Enter the next matrix name by Pressing F1(MAT) ALPHA B (or A, C, . . .)

Press EXEto add (or subtract, multiply, . . .) the matrices

To Multiply by a Scalar:

From the Main Menu move cursor to and Press EXE

Type the scalar (example: 4 )

Press OPTN to display the option menu.

Press F2 (MAT) then Press F1(MAT). “MAT _” with a flashing cursor will appear.

Enter the matrix name by pressing ALPHA A (or B, C, . . .)

Press EXE to multiply the matrix by the scalar

Find the Determinant of Matrix “C”

From the Main Menu move cursor to and Press EXE

Press OPTN to display the option menu.

Press F2 (MAT) then Press F3 (DET). “DET _” with a flashing cursor will appear.

Enter the matrix name by pressing F1ALPHA A (or B, C, . . .)

Press EXEto find the determinant

Find the Inverse of Matrix “C”

From the Main Menu move cursor to and Press EXE

Press OPTN to display the option menu.

Press F2 (MAT)

Enter the matrix name by pressing F1ALPHA A (or B, C, . . .)

Press SHIFT EXEto find the inverse
