Helpful Tips

  1. **IMPORTANT: All items must be entered and printed before the online barcoding system shuts down at midnight the Wednesday before the sale. Once the online barcoding system shuts down, you will no longer have access to your inventory for updating and printing purposes. You will, however, be able to login to the barcoding system to view your sale totals.
  2. Make a shortcut for the online barcoding system on your computer desktop. This will make opening the system easier and quicker. To create the shortcut, right-click on your computer desktop. This will display a menu. Highlight “New” to display another menu. Click “Shortcut”. This will display a “Create Shortcut” dialog box. In the “Location” field enter “ Then click the “Next” button. Type a name you want to assign to the shortcut (such as “KMOM Barcoding System”) and then hit the “Finish’ button. You should now see the newly created icon on your desktop. Double-click this icon when you want to open the online barcoding system.
  3. If you are logged into the online barcoding system and there is an extended period of inactivity, the system will automatically end your session. You will then need to close your internet web browser and re-open the online barcoding system.
  4. When entering new items into your inventory, you may find it helpful to access the online barcoding system from a laptop or other handheld device, such as an ipad, Kindle or tablet. This will allow you to enter information while sitting in a location that is convenient to you. Once the items are added, you can go to your desktop computer to print the tags. If you do not have a laptop or other handheld device, keep a handwritten list on a piece of paper. Then use this list to enter the items into the barcoding system.
  5. When entering new items into your active inventory using the “Work With Consigned Items” screen (Reference Figure #7), the “Category”, “Size”, “Price” and “Donate” fields will default to the information specified for the previously entered item. This is to help facilitate adding new items to your inventory.
  6. When entering new items into your active inventory using the “Work With Consigned Items” screen (Reference Figure #7), if the items are the same category, size and price, enter them in bulk by specifying a number in the “Qty” field, instead of entering each item individually. You can enter a maximum of 25 items at one time. Being able to enter items in bulk is a great time saver. For example, if you have ten size 4 boy shorts with a price of $2.50, specify 10 in the “Qty” field and upon hitting the “Submit Item” button, 10 items will automatically be added to your active inventory using the specified information. (Note: a detailed handwritten description should be added to the printed tags later. This is so we can match the tag up to an item if it accidentally comes off while on the sale floor. Instead of handwriting on the printed tag you could, at a later time, go back into the barcoding system and add details into the “Description Line 2” field before the tags are printed. [Tip: Another ideal item to enter in bulk is books.]).
  7. A suggested method of tagging your items(if you plan to print the tags on your home printer) is to do it one bin at a time. Take a bin of sale items and sort the items by gender. Within gender sort by size. Then separate each size by category and price (i.e. have a pile of boy size 2 shirts for $2.00, a pile of boys size 2 shirts for $1.50, a pile of boys size 2 pants for $2.50, etc, etc). This will save you time by allowing you to enter items in bulk instead of individually. Once all items in the bin have been added into the system, print the tags for these items. At this point you can cut the tags and attach to the items or just take the sheet of printed tags and lay them on top of the bin with the items.(They can be cut and attached them later) This will make it easier to match a printed tag with the desired item.
  8. **IMPORTANT: DO NOT enter donated items into your active inventory if you do not intend to bring them to the upcoming sale. After we complete the end of sale process, all unsold items marked as donate are automatically removed from your inventory. If you enter an off-season donate item into the active inventory, at the end the sale that item will be permanently deleted from your consigned inventory.
  9. Before printing, disable your pop-up blocker.
  10. All tags must be printed on cardstock paper not standard printer paper. (White for regular items and Pink for donated items)
  11. If you are using a color printer to print tags, you may want to specify that your printer use only the black ink when printing. Some color printers still use color ink even when printing text that is all black. To set this option, from the “Print” screen, select “Printer Properties”. Under the “Color tab”, select “Grayscale”, then check the box beside “use black print cartridge only”. This will stop the printer from using your color ink when printing the tags. *Note:This setting option may vary from printer to printer*
  12. You do not have to print your tags to a home printer. You can instead generate PDF files when requesting tags and have them printed by a printing company such as Staples or Kinkos. Reference pages 15 – 17 for more information.
  13. If you can use a 40% off coupon, you may find it cheaper to buy your cardstock at Michael’s or AC Moore, especially the pink cardstock. You can get the coupon from the Sunday paper, online or by using the Michael’s app on your smartphone.
  14. IMPORTANT: Since the new tagging system uses barcoding to scan sold items into the system, sellers will no longer be able to use pen to mark down prices of items on the sale racks.
  15. IMPORTANT: It is important that you verify that all items you bring to the sale are listed in your active inventory. If you bring an item to the sale that is not listed in the active inventory, the system will not be able to locate it in the database when the tag is scanned at checkout.

Your password is the last 4 digits of the phone number which we have on file for your account. It could be your home, mobile or work numbers. It is possible that we have no phone number on your account. If this is the case, then your password is “nown”. If you have problems logging in to your account, please contact Becky Creelman and she can assist you with your password.

Please know that when you login into the KMOM barcoding system for the first time, your password is a default password that was assigned to your account when we loaded your account information into the barcoding system. Your password does not have to remain your phone number. Once you login for the first time, this password can be changed by selecting “Update My Account Information” from the Consignor Homepage(Reference Figure #2).

Upon entering a valid Consignor Number and Password, the “Consignor Homepage” is displayed (Figure #2). From this screen you can perform various consignor functions.
