·  Make sure you have the module descriptor. The module descriptor is available online at www.pdst.ie, Click on the Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA) tab. Your Coordinator will supply you with this.

·  Active Methodology

·  Do greetings and introduce yourself.

e.g. Aujourd’hui Nous avons la classe de LCA 08-09.

·  Introduce the vocabulary for introductions e.g. Je m’appelle, Comment tu t’appelles?

·  Put the chairs in circles

·  It is a good idea to use a mic.

·  Get each student to introduce themselves in French and say where they live.

Second Lesson

Third Lesson

·  Teach vocabulary for père, mère, frère, soeur and vocabulary for numbers up to ten.

Fourth Lesson

·  Also introduce ‘vous’. (Requirement for the Oral Examination)

Fifth Lesson

·  Ask students to bring in a CD to use as background music to learn numbers one to ten.

·  Hold a voting competition to select the tune which will be used by the class to learn numbers one to ten.

Sixth Lesson

·  Have ten questions and get the student to pick three numbers in French.

·  Ask them 3 questions you have prepared corresponding to those numbers.
