Arrangements have been made through various agencies to provide medical services for our attendees during the 93rd National Convention at the Minneapolis Convention Center. During convention show hours our attendees, if inside the Minneapolis Convention Center, would go to the nearest “house” telephone, dial “2013” and then advise the dispatcher of the nature of the call. If attendees would like to program their cellular telephones for emergency situations within the Minneapolis Convention Center please list (612) 335-6040 as the number for security. Security personnel will respond accordingly and will then be in charge of the situation. If you are attending a meeting/function at the Minneapolis Hilton, please use any house telephone and dial “??”. The operator will then dispatch emergency assistance to your location. If you decide to call 911 from your cellular telephone please contact the hotel emergency number listed above so the hotel may direct emergency responders to the proper location.
We recommend that each attendee verify emergency medical procedures within their respective hotel subsequent to checking in to their room(s).
VAMC personnel will also be available in Hall C of the Minneapolis Convention Center on Friday, Monday and Tuesday, August 26th, 29th and 30th respectively to provide VAMC related information. The VAMC personnel will not attend to emergency medical situations unless absolutely necessary. However, should our attendees require medical services, we would encourage them to contact one of the hospitals listed below or follow the procedures listed above and seek the appropriate assistance.
