Los Angeles, CA – March 1, 2005 – Have you ever said to yourself, “I have a great idea … now what do I do?” Most everyone has had an idea or invention that they thought could be the next big thing, but very few of these concepts are ever nourished or set into motion. Instead, most "million dollar ideas" languish inside of their creators' heads, never to see the light of day.MADE IN THE USA taps into the spirit of invention and the American Dream like no television series has before. Unknown inventors and entrepreneurs will get the opportunity to develop their concept to fruition and earn an exclusive one-year sales contract to sell their product on the Home Shopping Network!

Casting will begin March 18th with a four-city open casting call in Chicago on March 18th, in Los Angeles on March 19th, followed by Atlanta on March 23rd, and New York City on March 29th. Exact locations can be found on the USA and NBC websites at and

Libby Hansen, Vice President of Alternative and Special Programming for USA Network reminds potential contestants, "Inventors don't have to be at the casting call to make it on the show." All inventors who can't make the casting calls are encouraged to log on to and apply through a videotaped submission. It is in contestants’ best interest, however, to attend an open casting call where they will have the opportunity to meet with the Casting Producer.

Contestants will participate in competitions, facing real-life challenges that inventors deal with in getting their product out to the public. Each week, products and inventors will be eliminated until the ultimate payoff when one lucky inventor team wins a once-in-a-lifetime contract with HSN.

"Made in the U.S.A.," which will air on USA Network later this summer, will be executive produced by Ken Mok, creator and executive producer of UPN's top-rated reality series "America's Next Top Model." "Made in the U.S.A." is television's newest and most ingenious reality program where America's inventors and entrepreneurs get the opportunity to turn their dreams and passions into a reality.
