Requirements and Expectations

MATERIALS– must be brought to class by August 30th

-Three-subject spiral

-Folder with pockets

GRADING POLICY –

-Daily grades will count 30%, Major grades will count 70%

-All unit tests and projects will be counted as major grades.

-Students have ONE WEEK after a grade is posted in Skyward to get with me and create a re-teach/re-test plan. After that seven day period, I will no longer administer re-takes/re-dos for assignments/tests/etc.

Pre-AP only –

-DBQ’s will count as a test grade

-25 point assignments will be assigned as part of must unit tests and are worth 25 points of the test grade

Other –

-Students who score below an 80 are eligible for a re-do/re-test. Students have three school days after the grade is posted to request a re-do/re-testwith me so we can develop a plan (re-teach if necessary) and timeline for their re-do assignment.

INSTRUCTIONAL FOCUS(I.F.) —

-As soon as class begins you are expected to start working on the opening activity on the board.

DAILY ASSIGNMENTS–

-Some assignments will be due at the end of class; this is to ensure that you are using your class time appropriately and helps to make sure that you are not being overwhelmed with school work. If you’re having trouble completing assignments in class, come talk to me and I will make a decision based on your work habits and needs.

-Homework will be given. It is your responsibility to make sure you understand the assignment before leaving class. Homework assignments will be due at the beginning of class the day that they are due.

OTHER EXPECTATIONS –

-Student are expected to follow theany and all guidelines laid out in the Student Handbook (can be found on the Cain website) regarding absences, cheating, dress code, conduct, etc.
