DECEMBER NEWSLETTER

Can I start by again thanking parents and friends for the massive assistance on and off the pitch we now have. Makes a big difference.

I want to particular thank Anthony for his weeks of work with the boys, particularly in defence and discipline which was really appreciated.

You will see that Matthew Harvey is now part of the coaching team. Matthew has played junior and adult football throughout the county and is now in a position to give something back and expressed a desire to me to be involved in kids coaching. He has made a big impact too and is approachable for comment and feedback as he continues to familiarize himself with our needs and names.

As we see from Hawks though,3 is the magic number and I will want to add to our group sooner rather than later in 2013 to really start to assist with individual and team development. If anyone would like to come forward or knows of anyone that would like to be involved, please let me know as I am making enquiries else where.

To reiterate….We do need to keep improving and coaching on a Tuesday is critical. It is vital the boys come and keep the right attitude of wanting to listen and learn as we introduce new patterns of play and areas to improve. I am sure you can keep reiterating this message to them. Increasingly, availability, effort and discipline shown on a Tuesaday will contribute to selection. Effort and team spirit like in the last game vs Quedgeley to go with the skills they have is exactly what we are wanting. Great performance

You can see from the following table that the fixtures are catching up and it looks like a tight league with the exception of the rogue Abbeymead team. I am not defeatist but realistically 2nd spot and a place in the Champions League end of season play off is our League target and I think we can really do it with hard work and a determination from us all
