Urban Land Institute- Baltimore District Council Presents
TRANSIT-ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT
IN MARYLAND: A Look Ahead
In June, Governor Martin O’Malley named 14 transit areas around Maryland as designated sites for transit-oriented development, making them eligible for priorityState assistance, tax credits, prioritization for the location of State offices, and support from the State Highway Administration.
TOD helps address issues ranging from traffic congestion to affordable housing, air pollution, and sprawl by creating compact, walk-able communities centered on high quality transit services.
Join ULI Baltimore for a conversation about these evolving public-private partnerships, featuring both Maryland transportation officials responsible for shaping the State’s TOD agenda and private-sector participants involved in existing TOD projects.
Topics to be shared include:
- Current and future TOD site designation
- State incentives for TOD
- Maryland TOD and federal sustainability policies
- Special issues in the TOD public-private partnership
Panelist:
Mark Pollak, Partner, Ballard Spahr LLP
Christopher Patusky, Director, Office of Real EstateMaryland Department of Transportation
Tony Greenberg, Vice President, The JBG Companies
