Summer Days Camp Offers Flexibility for Busy Families

Norwich, VT — May 18, 2005 — If you haven’t signed the kids up for summer camp because you’re still not sure of your family’s vacation schedule, don’t worry. Summer Days Camp — flexible, four-day-a-week program at the Upper Valley Learning Center (UVLC) in Norwich — still has openings.

“If you haven’t finalized your summer plans, this is the program for you,” says Janna Genereaux, co-owner of UVLC and one of the camp’s educators. “We have morning programs, afternoon programs, early morning and late afternoon sessions. The program is held four days a week, so you can still take a three-day weekend. We’re flexible to fit your schedule.”

“Summer day camps get filled up fast here in the Upper Valley, and our family is very happy that the UVLC started a new camp for kids,” says Anne Downey, mother of three from Hanover, N.H. “It’s flexible, close to home and promises a fun day for our daughter, age 5. We can’t wait for the fun to start in June!”

The camp, conveniently located on Route 5 in Norwich, provides children with opportunity to discover new interests, develop an individual style, make new friends and continue their classroom learning through investigative, creative and physical play. “This isn’t school; kids don’t have to clean up at the bell,” says Genereaux. “If they are engaged in an activity and having fun, they can just keep going.”

Seven sessions are scheduled for children ages 5 to 10: June 27-30, July 11-14, July 18-21, July 25-28, August 1-4, August 8-12, August 15-18. Summer Days Camp is staffed by adults (no teenagers), and takes full advantage of the indoor and outdoor facility at the Upper Valley Learning Center, including a stream, pirate ship, water pump and tunnel slide.

The morning program is priced at $150 for four days and the afternoon program is $100 for four days. A late afternoon session (Gee Whiz or free play from 3 to 5 p.m.) is $100 for four days, or $25 a day. Supervised play time is also offered to parents who go to work early or work late; times available are 8 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. for $10 an hour. Register by calling (802) 649-2772 or e-mailing
