Join EBLEX, Debby Brown an independent Nutritionist, and Chris Harrison of West Lakeland Vets for this ewe nutrition and ewe health meeting. The meeting is targeted at upland production systems and will focus on feeding ewes in late pregnancy and during lactation. Delegates can expect to gain a greater understanding of sheep nutrition and health issues that impact on ewe and lamb performance.

·  Ewe nutrition in late pregnancy and lactation – Debby Brown

·  The key principles of feeding ewes, how the rumen works, energy and protein requirements for different sized ewes as well as trough space requirements

·  Identifying different straights and their use in compound feeds – and comparing feeds on a per unit of Energy or Protein basis

·  Understanding the benefit of using Body Condition Score as a tool to help assess nuitritional requirements.

·  Understanding individual silage analysis and how to supplement it. A step by step guide to choosing the most appropriate complementary feed to meet ewes needs. Please bring your own silage analysis on the day if you have one.

·  Nutritional Disorders in ewes at lambing time. Benefit of addressing health issues in ewes lambs to minimise losses – Chris Harrison, West Lakeland Vets
