Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities
Palm Beach Philanthropy Tank is looking for 12-15 volunteers for our annual Philanthropy Tank Finals event held at A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts on March 11, 2018 from 4-6pm. Volunteers will need to arrive at 2:30pm and stay through the event until 6pm. We are a 501c3 nonprofit and your time will count towards community service hours for students.
Registration (4-5): Serve as our first point of contact for VIP guests and audience members at our check in table.
Greeters/Ushers (2-3): Greet guests at auditorium entrance with programs and help with seating.
Backstage crew (2): Assist the stage manager backstage with run of show needs.
Concession (2): Be available before the show and during intermission to restock concession items.
Merchandise Sales & Donations (2-3): Use our POS processing system to sell PBPT merchandise and accept donations.
We will provide you with a Philanthropy Tank shirt, info and FAQs about Philanthropy Tank and free snacks and drinks. Of course, we will also be grateful for your generosity and support as well! Please contact Alyssa at to learn more and sign up!

FLORENCE FULLER CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTERS
We are always seeking volunteers as “classroom helpers” to be an extra pair of watchful eyes, helpful hands and loving hearts for our children and “tutors” to help with reading, math or homework. All volunteers must be 16 years old, attend Orientation, have Background Check and Health Clearance for TB. The application process takes 6 - 8 weeks.
We have 2 campuses in Boca Raton.

Volunteering is available year-roundMonday– Friday, in the morning or in the afternoon. Volunteers choose their preferred day(s), time(s) and what age of children. There are no minimum hours.

After School children are K - 5th graders. Hour(s)2:45pm – 5:30pm.

BEST FOOT FORWARD
Best Foot Forward Foundation provides academic coaching to children in foster care. We need volunteers throughout the year for a variety of projects, assisting with events as well as help with office work on an as needed or regular basis. Tutors are needed for afternoon sessions with high school and college students.

THE MILAGRO CENTER
The Milagro Mentoring Program provides site based one-on-one mentoring through our after-school art and academic program. Mentoring would take place on a weekday of your choice from around 2:30 - 4:30pm every week with a yearlong commitment to your mentee. Milagro's mentoring program fosters nurturing, supportive, intergenerational relationships that are essential in building self-esteem in these children. Through the program, the children are more able to adequately deal with the factors that classify them as at-risk with mentors who are trained to address and focus on emotional and educational deficiencies. Milagro s Mentoring Program offers an innovative facet to after-school programming by connecting youth with mentors, providing positive role models in children's lives, which can enhance all aspects of their development and leave a lasting memory that is forever treasured.
The case manager determines the needs of the youth through parental/guardian contact, teacher conferences and input from the youth themselves. All of the currently enrolled students are ages 5-10 and are considered at-risk due to different circumstances including, but not limited to low-income, high-crime area, single-parent family, troubled home environment, latch-key home, academic deficiencies and family history of substance abuse and violence.
The TEEN CENTER is need of a permanent volunteer to perform administrative and operational duties and tasks. 2:30 pm- 6:30 pm.

C.R.O.S MINISTRIES: Caring Kitchen – Delray Beach
Traffic Director
A volunteer is needed to direct cars to proper parking areas during peak meal times. Shift time is approximately 11:15 am - 12:20 pm.
Drivers to deliver meals to the Homebound
Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays, time commitment approximately 2 hours one day per week. Background check and driver check mandatory. After training delivery time is flexible anytime between 10:30am-1pm.
Weekday Van drivers
Wednesday and Tuesday. Approximately 4 hours one day per week to make regularly scheduled stops and occasional random pick ups. Drivers will be trained and must pass driver background check.
Meal Preparation & Serving
Any day Monday through Friday from 9am to 1pm. Duties include preparing lunch with other volunteers, serving and cleaning up.
Office Volunteer
Any day Monday through Friday from 9am to 1pm. Duties include answering phones, filing, helping with mailings, and light computer work in MS Word/Excel.

Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach
Here at Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County, we are always looking for volunteers to work in our ReStores, on our construction site and even in our office. We have 4 hour office shifts - either 9:00 am - 1:00 pm or 1:00 - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday where they answer the phone, greet homeowners, and do other administrative tasks. We ask if they can pick one shift a week they can commit to weekly.

Equine Assisted Therapies of Florida
Our team provides all of the necessary training and education. While horse experience isn’t required, it is certainly a plus!
Our sessions run in increments of 10 weeks. The Fall session will begin onSaturday September 16thand run untilSaturday December16th. We then have our winter break for 3 weeks and resume Winter Session which will run from January 8th2018 to March 17th2018. Lessons are scheduledMonday– Saturday and volunteers are required tocommitto a minimum of 2hours per week for a 10 week session.
Scheduling will be based on EATSF needs along with the days that works best for them.
In order to begin, they will need to attend 1 Orientation and 1 Introductory to Sidewalker training.

Abi’s Place
Needs classroom Volunteers. About Abi’s Place:
We are a non-profit private school specifically designed to meet the learning and behavioral needs of exceptional children, ages 3-18, with moderate to severe challenges. Our teachers utilize ABA techniques and positive reinforcements while administering a thematic based curriculum designed to teach children language and communication skills, as well as functional life skills.Abi’s Place utilizes four curriculums to meet each child’s skill set: Thematic Program, ABLLS, Core Curriculum, and TEACCH.Children are placed in classrooms based on their present level of performance
VE Classrooms: Servicing children, who are developing skills on Pre-academics including labeling, sequencing, following directions, and routines.
Cluster Classrooms: Servicing children who have a language delay who would benefit from a lower ratio at this time to help bridge the gaps in skills while building on academics.
Play-skills Classrooms: Servicing children who need help learning through imitation and exploring their environment while introducing some pre-academics.
Medically Complex Classrooms: Servicing children who are working on basic life skills as well as learning to explore their environment, to use assistive technology and buildsome independence.
Transition Classrooms: Servicing teens who are working heavily on
vocational and daily living skills to prepare them for more independence.
Each child is administered a personalized education plan (PEP) which is used to set individualized educational goals. Parental input is encouraged during the goal setting process in order to incorporate goals designed to maximize their child’s independence at home. Detailed data is taken daily and tracked weekly in order to identify necessary information to ensure individualized instruction is facilitating the skills needed for goal attainment.
The classroom ratios are never more than 3 students to 2 teachers; this allows each child to receive individualized attention needed to attain their goals.
Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapists are in the facility and available for students and the community ages 0-18 needing skilled therapeutic services on an out-patient basis. (insurance or out-of-pocket)

Speak Up for Kids
In PBC, there are nearly 1,600 children involved in dependency court proceedings. Speak Up for Kids mission is to ensure that the Guardian Ad Litem Program can recruit, train and support the GAL advocates and the children the tirelessly advocate. Speak Up and be the hope for 100% of the abused, abandoned and neglected children in our community.

Come to our informational-brainstorming meetingThursday February 1st 6pm
Meeting place: Miracle League Field
Miracle Mom’s is a committee of volunteers that want to help raise money to support Miracle League.
The commitment consists of but not limited to the following:
1) volunteer time in concession stand during games and events
2) planning and coordinating of fundraising events (IE- Dinner on Diamond, tennis events and more)
3) coordination of team moms
4) speak to local groups and organizations and raise awareness for Miracle League
Everyone has a different level of participation and commitment that they can provide. Helping make phone calls from home can be as important as walking the streets collecting auction items.
We all can bring a different element to the group to make us successful and in turn make Miracle League more successful.
