A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Charles Kavanaugh Hamilton.
With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Charles Kavanaugh Hamilton, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.
WHEREAS, Charles Kavanaugh Hamilton was born on December 4, 1957, a native of Lexington, and longtime resident of Scott County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on January 23, 2004; and
WHEREAS, Charles Kavanaugh Hamilton was the loving son of Charles W. and Irma Louise Sutherland Hamilton; he was the devoted husband of Carolyn Courtney Hamilton; he was the loving father of a daughter, Brianna Hamilton; a stepson, Ryan Hayden; and two stepdaughters, Mica Dryer and Gina Phelps; and he was the proud step-grandfather of a step-granddaughter, Alissa Sanders, all of Sadieville; and
WHEREAS, Charles Kavanaugh Hamilton graduated from the University of Kentucky, and at the time of his passing, he was District Manager with the United States Department of Agriculture in Rural Development; and
WHEREAS, Charles Kavanaugh Hamilton was an esteemed member of the Scott County community, where he was a member of Dry Run Baptist Church; he was president and also served as current treasurer of the Scott County F. F. A. Alumni; he was responsible for recruiting over 150 members for the alumni chapter, and traveled across the state to recruit other alumni members and organize new chapters; and through his efforts, the Scott County chapter has given over $100,000 in scholarships and sponsorships; and he was the recipient of the 2000 National F. F. A. Alumni Member of the Year award; and
WHEREAS, the passing of Charles Kavanaugh Hamilton has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Charles Kavanaugh Hamilton, and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.
Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Charles Kavanaugh Hamilton.
Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Carolyn Courtney Hamilton, 185 Elk Lick Road, Sadieville, Kentucky 40370.
