A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and recognition of Senator Nick Kafoglis upon his retirement from the Kentucky General Assembly.
WHEREAS, this 1998 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly will be the last opportunity we will have to share the companionship of our seatmate, Nick Kafoglis; and
WHEREAS, Nick Kafoglis served in the United States Air Force, and was honorably discharged; and
WHEREAS, Nick Kafoglis is a distinguished physician who began his medical practice in Bowling Green in 1959 and belongs to the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology; and
WHEREAS, Nick Kafoglis was first elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives in 1972 and was voted the outstanding Representative in the public interest in 1974 by the Press; and
WHEREAS, the honorable Senator of the Thirty-Second District, representing Logan and Warren Counties, has ably served his constituents as the Senate Majority Caucus Chairman and on the Education Committee, Judiciary Committee, Licensing and Occupations Committee, Administrative Regulation Review Subcommittee, Appropriations and Revenue Committee, Local Government Committee, Long-Term Policy Research Center Board, Program Review and Investigations Committee, and Senate State Government Committee; and
WHEREAS, Nick Kafoglis has represented his constituents with pride while exemplifying dedication and professionalism that only a few people can achieve; and
WHEREAS, when we reflect upon the contributions Nick Kafoglis has made to the citizens of this great Commonwealth, we are reminded that ethics and integrity have played a large part in his achievement as an outstanding member of the Kentucky General Assembly, and his accomplishments should serve as an example for those who succeed him;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate recognizes Nick Kafoglis for his generous public service and commitment both to the General Assembly and to the legislative process.
Section 2. The Senate commends its distinguished colleague, Nick Kafoglis, for his immense contributions to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and wishes him continued success in all future endeavors.
Section 3. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and recognition of Nick Kafoglis.
Section 4. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Honorable Nick Kafoglis, 1008 Newman Drive, Bowling Green, Kentucky 42101.
