A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Mary Ellen Williams Watts.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Mary Ellen Williams Watts, and we pause in silent reverence for her soul.

WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Williams Watts was born on July 8, 1950, a native of Rowan County, Kentucky, and she traversed these earthly bounds on February 15, 2002; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Williams Watts was the loving daughter of Lettie Ingle Williams of Morehead, and the late Leonard Williams, and she also was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Little, and a brother, David Williams; she was the devoted wife of Steve M. Watts, and the loving stepmother of Stacie Lillie of Morehead, and she was the proud grandmother of two granddaughters, Savanah Lillie and Endia Lillie, both of Morehead; and she was the loving sister of two brothers, Bill Williams and Rufus Williams, both of Morehead, and four sisters, Clela Markwell, Dorothy Eden, and Verna Jones, all of Morehead, and Bertha Davis of Middletown, Ohio; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Williams Watts was an active and involved citizen and an esteemed member of the Rowan County community where she was a member of the Sharkey Freewill Baptist Church, and at the time of her passing, she was a Realtor with Phillip Lawson Real Estate, and she was a former Rowan County High School counselor for seventeen years; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Mary Ellen Williams Watts has left a void that cannot be filled, and she is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Mary Ellen Williams Watts, and extends to her family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Mary Ellen Williams Watts.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mr. Steve M. Watts, 4299 Bull Fork Road, Morehead, Kentucky 40351.
