A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Cabell D. Francis.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to our friend and colleague, Cabell D. Francis, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Cabell D. Francis, a native of Lincoln County, Kentucky, crossed that final bourne from which no traveler returns on February 22, 2000; and

WHEREAS, Cabell D. Francis was the devoted husband of Helen Carroll Francis; he was the loving father of a son, Cabell D. Francis II of Stanford, and two daughters, Alissa Francis Horseman of Stanford, and Margaret Francis Seifert of Hanover, Indiana; and he was the proud grandfather of four grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Cabell D. Francis served his country with distinction in the United States Navy during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Cabell D. Francis will be remembered as an active and involved citizen, and a highly esteemed member of the Lincoln County community; he graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law; he was a former Stanford and Hustonville city attorney, and he was a past president of the Lincoln County Bar Association, and past president of the Stanford Lions Club; and

WHEREAS, Cabell D. Francis served his constituents in Lincoln County with pride in the House of Representatives during the 1954 legislative session, and he represented Lincoln, Casey, Garrard and Boyle counties in the Senate during the 1958 and 1960 legislative sessions; and

WHEREAS, Cabell D. Francis was a devout member of Stanford Christian Church where he was an elder emeritus, and where he also taught Sunday school for many years; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Cabell D. Francis has left a void that will be difficult to fill, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. This honorable body does hereby express its utter sense of bereavement and loss upon the passing of Cabell D. Francis, and extends to his family its most profound and deepest sympathy.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Cabell D. Francis.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Representative Robert Damron for presentation to the family of Cabell D. Francis.
