A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Ruth Ann Wyatt.
With deepest respect and admiration, we pay tribute and homage to Ruth Ann Wyatt, and we pause in silent reverence for her eternal soul.
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Wyatt was born on September 15, 1964, in Coldwater, Ohio to Ethel Ann and Carl B. Borger; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Wyatt graduated Magna Cum Laude from the College of Design, Architecture, Art & Planning at the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science degree in Design in 1987, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the School of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Louisville with a Master's degree in Art Therapy in 1994, having also received the President's Award; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Wyatt was a registered Art Therapist, a certified Professional Art Therapist, a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, a member of the Kentucky Art Therapy Association, a volunteer at Churchill Park School, a volunteer at Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Montessori School, and the owner of Good Design, LLC, a company specializing in quality graphic design for nonprofit and arts related organizations; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Wyatt spent the majority of her adult professional life devoted to the practice of art therapy and the use of art as a means of self-expression, one that encourages the development of an individual's creativity as a vehicle for increased self-awareness, personal growth, and the resolution of emotional conflict; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Wyatt was characterized by her extreme competence during her internship with LifeSpring, an inpatient psychiatric facility, and with the Jefferson Alcohol and Drug Abuse Center, a facility specializing in chemical dependency treatment, she performed admirably at the Lighthouse Adolescent Recovery Center, as an art therapist, chemical dependency counselor, and case manager, and distinguished herself as a teacher at the University of Louisville in expressive therapy; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Wyatt fell in love with and married Kevin Wyatt, maintaining a remarkable friendship, and an affectionate marriage, which produced a loving and gifted daughter, Evelynn Wyatt, and a compassionate and generous son, Urban Wyatt; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Wyatt will always be remembered for her love of her husband and children, her warm heart, her uncommon and unique stylishness, her love and concern for others, and her infectious smile; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Wyatt leaves to cherish her memory her husband Kevin Wyatt; her daughter Evelynn Wyatt; her son Urban Wyatt; her brothers Dale Borger, Fred Borger, Gary Borger, Charles Borger, and John Borger; her sisters Beverly Thobe, Mary Petkoff, Brenda Schwieterman, and Jean Borger; her devoted in-laws; several special friends; and a host of other friends and acquaintances; and
WHEREAS, the passing of Ruth Ann Wyatt on February 8, 2004, has left a void that will be impossible to fill, and she is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth of Kentucky;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. This honorable body does hereby express its profound sense of bereavement and loss upon the passing of Ruth Ann Wyatt and extends to her relatives, friends, and acquaintances its most heartfelt sympathy.
Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Ruth Ann Wyatt.
Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Kevin Wyatt, 2077 Ravinia Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky 40205.
