A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Robert L. Barnett Jr.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Robert L. Barnett Jr., and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Robert L. Barnett Jr. was born on December 10, 1935, a native of Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on January 20, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Robert L. Barnett Jr. was the loving son of the late Robert L. Barnett Sr. and Mary Rose Barnett; he was the devoted husband of Delores Hutti Barnett; he was the loving father of six sons, Bob Barnett, David Barnett, Patrick Barnett, Stephen Barnett, Tim Barnett, and John Barnett; and the loving father of six daughters, Kathleen Russell, Ruth Grimm, Judith Boehman, Jean Ezell, Rachel Harrington, and Maureen McLean; and he was the proud grandfather of 23 grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Robert L. Barnett Jr. was a licensed pharmacist for 45 years, and he was active in national, state, and local pharmacy associations; he was a past faculty member of the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy; he ably served his profession as executive director of the Kentucky Pharmacists Association for 12 years, and during his tenure, he was instrumental in successful revisions of the Pharmacy Practice Act; and

WHEREAS, Robert L. Barnett Jr. was a man of service and an achiever, and his influence in the pharmaceutical field is immeasurable and will have lasting impact; he was held in high esteem by his peers, and during his career, he was the recipient of the JCAP Pharmacist of the Year award in 1965, and again in 1986; and in 1977, he was named KPhA's Pharmacist of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Robert L. Barnett Jr. was a devout member of St. Martha Catholic Church, where his funeral Mass will be held on January 23, 2004; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Robert L. Barnett Jr. has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Robert L. Barnett Jr., and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Robert L. Barnett Jr.
