  1. Osprey Voice Review
  2. May Osprey VoiceResults
  3. Went through the results. Addressed events questions about pool parties that was brought up during the last Senate meeting. The low vote is not because of OP, but because many students can’t swim. This may be why they do not like this event as much as the concerts.
  4. Answers to why more students do not hear about events: want more advertising, more drug control at concerts, wider variety of artists at concerts, more/better free food, or just not interested.
  5. Main issue here: advertising. OP could increase signage to target audiences (for example, if targeting freshman on campus, they could post signs around housing areas). Promoting events at Market Days or on social media would also help advertise our public meetings.
  6. What can senators do: read through the May Osprey Voice results and figure out what they can do to fix these issues.
  7. July Questions
  8. Chairwoman Cajuste: Motion to suspend Robert’s Rules. Second. All in favor. Motion passed.

  11. Senator Pres. Burke: Bringing Redbox to campus.
  12. Senator Myers: Discussed legality of having this on campus.
  13. Senator Sinudom: Brought up that Spinnaker Media has movie streaming for all students on their website.
  14. Senator Peele: Talked about the cost of accessing the Redbox unit.
  15. Senator Sinudom: Holding more multi-cultural events and/or bringing more awareness to existing events. We could reach out to Club Alliance about events they hear about through their multicultural clubs.
  16. Senator Myers: Discussed the multicultural food days currently held by the ICP, Asian Student Union, and Hispanic Student Union.
  17. Chairman Jordan: Listed multiple clubs that hold multicultural events.
  18. Chairwoman Cajuste: Discussed the possibility of getting more clubs involved.
  19. Senator Peele: Proposed holding monthly performances at the Andrew Robinson Theater or the Lazzare Theater spotlighting specific cultures. Also brought up that a cheaper option could be holding these events in the Student Union Plaza.
  20. Senator Jackson: Talked about getting faculty spots changed to student spots in the Student Union Parking Garage. This topic has been discussed a lot in the past year, but nothing has come of it so far. Senator Jackson has emailed Parking Services, but has not heard anything back as of yet. She will keep the committee updated on this because the Parking Advisory Council does not meet during summer.
