Online Nursing Department MSN Scholarship
Criteria
The University Of North Alabama Anderson College Of Nursing (ACON) will award one (1) $1,000.00 scholarship to MSN students each Fall, Spring, and Summer semester. An application must be submitted for the scholarship and a type-written essay must accompany the application. No FAFSA is required.
· The application will be posted online. The applicant must submit the application and essay as an email attachment to .
· Applications will be submitted by March 15 for the Summer scholarship, June 15 for the Fall scholarship and October 15 for the Spring scholarship.
· The amount of the scholarship is $1,000.00. A student who has received a scholarship may re-apply for a scholarship during additional semesters.
· Students enrolled part-time or full-time, may apply for the scholarship; however, applications of full-time students will be given priority. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in the ACON at the time the scholarship is awarded and must maintain that enrollment status throughout the semester.
· Students must have completed at least 6 hours of required nursing courses in the MSN program before applying for the scholarship. The applicant must have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA in the MSN program. It is important to know that any act of academic dishonesty will void recipient of the scholarship.
· Please note that the undergraduate GPA may be used for additional information when selecting scholarship recipients, if necessary.
Criteria for the essay:
1 – The essay must be type-written according to APA format (related to margins, spacing, font, etc).
2 - The essay must be at least one page but no more than two pages of text.
3 - The essay must address the topic: “Why I deserve this scholarship?”
