ASSOCIATION OF CHARTERED CERTIFIED ACCOUNTANTS

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is one of the world’s leading international accountancy bodies, operating in over 170 countries.

Its recognition under UK legislation empowers it to regulate its members to undertake statutory audit and to conduct investment business. Today’s profession is dynamic and accountancy skills are at the very heart of business planning and Chartered Certified Accountants are key participants in management.

Because of the flexibility of the qualification which consists of examinations, ethics and experience, there is a wide range of opportunities available to ACCA members in the business world. They can move into general management in the public and private sectors and may have opportunities to specialise in audit, taxation or information technology.

The ACCA examinations consist of 14 papers. There are two exam diets, one in June and one in December. Exemption from certain papers will be given to students possessing a recognised degree or HNC/HND in Accounting.

The Programme

Theprogramme commences in September and February each year with a view to sitting the ACCA examinations either in December or June respectively.

Entry Requirements and Exemptions

Students with HNDs, HNCs or recognised degrees are given exemptions which vary according to thesubjects studied. Application must be made to ACCA to obtain confirmation of exemptions and to obtain registration.

New students must register with ACCA in respect of taking June or December exams respectively. See
