AMENDMENT TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2017

The City Council of Norwich pursuant to an agency agreement entered into under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with the Norfolk County Council and in exercise of the powers of the Norfolk County Council under Sections 1, 2, and 4and the powers contained in Sections 32 and 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers and with the consent of the Norfolk County Council given under Section 39(4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling provisions of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, hereby makes the following Order: -

Citation and Commencement

This Order may be cited as the Norwich City Council (University Area Controlled Parking Zone) Traffic Regulation Order 2017 and shall come into effect for all purposes on XXXXXX .

The Norwich City Council University Area Parking Zone Traffic Regulation Order 2004 as amended (The 1993 Order) is amended as set out in Articles 4-13 below.
The Norwich city Council (Southern Area) (Prohibition of waiting) Consolidation Order 1982 is amended as specified in Article 14 of this Order

Schedule 1 is amended as specified in Schedule 1 of this Order.

Schedule 4 is amended as specified in Schedule 2 of this Order.

Schedule 5 is amended as specified in Schedule 3 of this Order

Schedule 16is amended as specified in schedule 4 of this Order

Schedule 74is amendedas specified in Schedule 5of this Order

Schedule 94 is amended as specified in Schedule 6 of this Order

Schedule 115 is amended as specified in Schedule 7 of this Order

The definition of ‘operational date’ is amended for properties within the streets (or parts of streets) described in Schedule 1for which the operational date is the date this order came into effect

The following paragraph is added as Article 3(8)

Insofar as any provision of this Order conflicts with the effect of markings placed on the carriageway, as specified under Regulation 29(1) of the general Directions conveying the existence of a Bus Stop Clearway as defined by part 1 of Schedule 19 of the General Directions, the effect of those markings shall prevail

The following is added as article 4(5)

Any Bus Stop Clearway specified in Schedule 16 or Schedule 72 is installed under Regulation 29(1) of the General Directions conveying the existence of a bus stop clearway as defined by part 1 of Schedule 19 of the regulations

All references to those streets (or part of streets) referred to in Schedule 1 are deleted from the Norwich city Council (Southern Area) (Prohibition of waiting) Consolidation Order 1982 (as amended)
