Gifted Education Grant Reporting

Universal Screening for K-2 and Middle School

Background

The Colorado Department of Education and House Bill 14-1102 provides schools the opportunity to apply for funds to offset the costs incurred through the administration of a universal screening tool no later than second grade and/or a second screening in conjunction with creation of the ICAP (individual career and academic plan) in middle school.

Funding Process

CSI will distribute funds to grant applicants, subject to available appropriations. If funds are sufficient to fully award all grant applications, each school applicant will receive full funding. If fund are insufficient, then CSI will distribute funds proportionately.

CSI will notify schools of their award by Friday, March 6th and schools will receive the funds in March 2015. All funds must be used by June 30, 2015. There is no carry-forward and all unused funds must be returned to CSI. Please be accurate in your funding requests. There is no benefit to overestimating your funding request as all unused funds will have to be returned to CDE.

Reporting

Schools receiving funds through this grant opportunity must submit an end of year program report. The report must be completed and submitted to CSI by July 30, 2015. Please submit the report to Ryan Marks
