Some of the qualifications for board members are spelled out in our by-laws and some requirements have evolved by way of practice and guidance. While you must meet those requirements that are spelled out in the by-laws, there is some flexibility with regard to the qualifications based on practice and guidance. If you do not meet all of these practice and guidance qualifications, but are willing to step into these behaviors, and/or acquire the training and experience, then you may complete this application to be considered.
Please read through the following requirements and expectations to help you determine if you are qualified and interested in being considered:
Qualifications – as spelled out in our By-laws:
To be eligible to be elected to the Board of Trustees, a person must:
●Be an active member in good standing of Unity of Madison
●Endeavor to live in accord with the Jesus Christ principles of love and truth as taught by Unity
●Work to further the purposes of this ministry through active interest, love, and support
●Be a sincere and continuing student of Unity always remaining conversant with its teachings
●Shall have demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Qualifications – according to practice and guidance:
●Tithes, or is willing to step into tithing
●Has access to current technology for email, document creation, and downloading information (or is willing to move toward this)
●Desire to grow spiritually through regular attendance at services and classes
●Volunteers on a ministry or project team

The Nominating Committee will conduct an interview with all candidates prior to recommending nominees. If you are recommended for board service by the team, you will be asked to provide a short biography and photo to be used for the announcement of the candidates.
