Major changes in Europe helped bring about an age of global interaction. Between 1300 and 1500 C.E., Europe experienced a period of cultural rebirth known as the Renaissance. During the same period the Protestant Reformation and the Scientific Revolution reshaped European civilization.
Beginning in 1500 C.E. European powers gradually built trading empires in Asia. Thus began a period of increasing global interdependence.
During the Age of Exploration, European powers built colonial empires in the Americas. New patterns of conquest and global exchange had an enormous impact on the World.
