There are a variety of ways to integrated physical education and mathematics. This unit will provide several sports and fitness activities that can be integrated with math. It will also provide you with a physical education website to guide you with integrating physical education.

a. Engage in and recognize the benefits of sustained physical activity that causes increased heart rate and respiration
Procedures
Students will exercise and then record their heart rate using math skills learned previously. (they will count their heart beats in 30 seconds and then multiple that number by 2. They will use a heart monitor to record after the next activity
Approximate Time Needed (Example: 45 minutes, 4 hours, 1 year, etc.)
