Scenario / So, how fit are you? Your Gang Warily sports centre has launched a ‘Get Fit’ initiative for schools and colleges in the area to get young people to design, implement and review a personal fitness training programme to achieve their training goals.
You may safely incorporate any training method(s) you like into your programme – this is your chance to make sure your training is as exciting and fun as possible!
Task 1 / Training programme design
In this task, you need to independently design a six-week fitness training programme. As part of this assignment, you need to complete the following:
·  Collect personal information including: personal goals, aims and objectives, a medical history questionnaire, a lifestyle and physical activity questionnaire, and attitudes and personal motivation for training.
·  From this information, discuss with your tutor/classmate your key strengths and areas for improvement that might influence how you design your training programme.
·  Based on the personal information, independently design a safe six-week fitness training programme.
·  Include in your training programme, details of how you plan to warm up and cool down for each exercise session and an overall summary of the importance of these components in an exercise session.
·  Discuss with your tutor/a classmate why you have included the particular training activities, saying how they link back to your personal information (e.g. how your training programme will meet your training goals).
·  Produce a table that: details each of the principles of training, including what they are and how you have used them in your training plan.
·  Discuss with your tutor/a classmate how you have planned to maintain exercise adherence, how you will prevent/avoid barriers to training and how you will make sure your training stays enjoyable.
