DOK 2 - R(1): Explain the multiple causes and effects of events and why they resulted in the American Revolution.

Students will demonstrate their understanding of the causes of the American Revolution and how they are related by choosing one of two assignments. Students are required to use at least seven causes and at least three people from their class notes.

Option#1: READ ALL ABOUT IT

Students will create a front page of a newspaper with various titles and topics that highlight the events and causes of the American Revolution. Students will have to draw a rough layout before they are allowed to go to the media center and work on an electronic copy. Students will make headlines, brief descriptions, and insert pictures into their newspaper. A sample template has been provided on the class webpage.

Option #2: Piktochart/Infographic

Students will create an informational poster/flowchart in the form of a pictochart/infographic that shows the relationships between the events and causes of the Revolutionary War. It can be done as a flow chart, timeline, cause and event organizer, or any other idea the student may come up with on as individuals. Students are allowed to create an electronic copy by using However, students will have to draw a rough layout before they are allowed to go to the media center to work on an electronic copy. Students need to show the connections between the events and people and why they eventually caused the American Revolution.
