Assignment title / Job Roles and Service Provision
The purpose of this assignment is to assess your knowledge and understanding of the range of
services and job roles within health and social care (adults and children and young people),
early years and child care.
Scenario
You have been asked to provide information for a recruitment campaign about local health and
social care services and the range of job roles available within different sectors.
Task 1
Prepare an information pack, which could be given to a group from the local community who
are interested in working within health, social care or childcare. Your pack should:
  • identify the range of services provided in your own local area, including health and social care
for adults, children and young people and childcare services
  • give one example of who may use each of the services you have identified
  • outline the purpose of each of these services in meeting individual people’s needs
  • outline how informal care contributes to service provision, using examples from your
    own experience if appropriate
You will need to submit your notes and any other support materials used in your presentation as evidence towards your assessment.
Note to tutors
This task could involve some element of peer assessment to enable learners to review and
reflect on their own work and that of their colleagues.
Task 2
Produce a leaflet or fact sheet, which could be used in the campaign that outlines the
difference between statutory and independent service provision.
Task 3
Produce a PowerPoint presentation which could be used to inform people considering a
possible career in health and social care. Your presentation should:
  • identify the range of jobs roles within different types of service (health, social care and
childcare)
  • identify the knowledge and skills required to work within one specific sector (health care
    OR social care OR childcare)
  • outline a range of career progression routes available for a worker in your chosen sector
