UNDERSTANDING: AT THE OUTSET OF YOUR LIFE, YOUR GOALS AND DREAMS WILL ONLY BE FULFILLED WHEN YOU SERIOUSLY PRAY AND SCRIPTURALLY WALK WITH GOD. HAVE YOU MADE PRAYER ON THESE MATTERS? THIS VISION PAPER REQUIRES A LIFE OF PRAYER… But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33). I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart (Psalm 40:8).

I. Career Goals

TWO PAGES. Provide a specific description of one vocation in relation to your future biblical responsibility as the spiritual leader and the provider in your home. Describe how and why the goals may have changed over the course of time between the 10th grade goals paper and the 11th grade goals paper. What steps need to be taken within this school year to attain these goals? Provide research on the profession of your choosing (such as location, growth, revenue, areas of interest within the company, magnitude of the company, and nature of business etc. – ONE PAGE). What factors contributed to your decision? Setup an interview (you interviewing the employer – see interview template) to learn about your interest and what your responsibilities may consist of within the company (Note: Write a separate document and include the results of the interview within this goals paper as an appendix at the end of this document concerning the information and outcome of the interview). Define three of your personal strengths and three of your personal weaknesses. What can you do to improve your strengths and diminish your weaknesses over the course of this school year? If applicable, further define the training and supplemental classes mentioned in the 10th grade goals paper for your chosen vocation.

II. Academic Goals

TWO PAGES. Discuss your academic goals, including your current GPA. How does this relate to your past goal for your GPA? Define at least three of your personal strengths and three of your personal weaknesses. How do you plan to increase your strengths and diminish your weaknesses over the course of this year? Narrow the search of your colleges of interest and focused degree(s) to one respectively (if a vocation is chosen that doesn’t include a degree perse, then discuss in detail the supplemental classes and training that was previously mentioned in the Career Goals paragraph). Research the college/vocational school/training for possible scholarships, grants, and advancements pertaining to your degree of choice and describe them. Research the college/vocational school/training concerning the location, atmosphere, commute, size, and academic standing. Why have you chosen this institute/vocational school? What are the spiritual ramifications in light of your biblical role as a spiritual leader and a godly father?

III. Spiritual Goals

HALF PAGE. What are you doing currently in the ministry and how has this changed since 10th grade papers? How will your academic goals affect your relationship with the church? How will your vocation affect your relationship with the church and productivity of the ministry? How do you plan to apply these goals to the ministry? What desire or role would you like to fulfill in the ministry and why (i.e. deacon, Sunday school teacher, webmaster, sound technician etc.)?

IV. Conclusion

HALF PAGE. State any areas in your life that need growth in preparation for being a godly man, husband, and father. What areas would you like to see the school improve and why (i.e. classes offered, activities, projects performed, etc.)? How will your academic, spiritual, and career goals prepare you to be a spiritual leader, a godly father and ultimately serve the Lord? Restate your goals quote.

Note: If your vocation is broad then you may need to pick a job within that vocation. This will better define the interview questions needed for the interview with the employer. This needs to be deleted before turning in the goals paper.
