Understand the Difference between Indiana AAU and Independent Teams

SECTION 19.6-AAU Teams are Independent Team

All Independent Teams are AAU Club Level 1 or 2. They run there own operation, Handle their own endeavors. Have their own AAU club membership numbers.

SECTION 19.6.1All independent team have to have their own 501(c)3, Insurance, and their own equipment.

SECTION 19.6.2In order to be a independent team you must show prove of your 501(c)3 not for profit letter of determination number, and provide proof of Insurance prior to the first practice. Which insurance can be purchase on AAU national websites.

SECTION 19.6.3Independent team athletes,coaches and anyone that is part of the operation of the team have to have an AAU membership. Please convince to get the expanded membership for insurance.

SECTION 19.6.4All Membership number need to be turned in to Indiana AAU Youth Football Associationprior to the first practices.

SECTION 19.6.5 Independent team is teams that handle their own endeavors they pay for their own equipment,jersey, tournament fees,and any Financial obligation.

SECTION 19.6.6A fee of $500 needs to be paid to Indiana AAU Youth Football Association per-team.

  1. $500 divided by the least amount of kids on at team which is 15.
  2. That comes out to be $33 per kid.
  3. $33 per kid cover insurance for games only (practices are not included) help with field and referee cost. Be able to play in the IAAUYFA travel football league, play in the state tournament which qualifies you to play in the Midwest classic zone championships and the AAU National championship. It also cover metals and trophies (state rings not include)
  4. All Athletes Coaches gets to participate in our off-season and in-season programs Back to the Basis School (Football Fundamentals development program),Indiana AAU Fleet Training Program ( Speed,Quickness,Agilities and Nutrition Training), and building Mans Program (Leadership Academics program) All training program ran by Nutrition Plus, All football fundamentals development program, building Mans program is ran by CordCeed Programs.

SECTION 19.6.7All Independent teams has to participate in two Indiana AAU events one fundraiser and one event (tournament,camps,or special event).

Section 19.7 Indiana AAU Teams

These teams are sponsored by Indiana AAU Youth Football Association.

SECTION 19.7.1 IAAUYFA will supply equipment, insurance, 501(c)3, and take care all Financial obligations for that association. IAAUYFA takes care of all endeavors.

SECTION 19.7.2 $30 Club fee which go straight to INDIANA AAU,

SECTION 19.7.3Indiana AAU teams have to participate in all fundraisers and events.

SECTION 19.7.3 All AAU Club Athletes have to pay $185 per kid.

  1. $185 covers equipment rental, fields, referees, tournaments,state championship insurance, metals, trophies, rings, travel (Hotel for State championship teams) and operational costs.

  3. Get to participate in the state tournament and nationals at no cost (all tournament no included)
  4. DIVISIONS

  • Born-in dates prior to September 1st

Peewee (5U-6U flag , Back to the Basic only) no contact

Freshmen(7U-8U)

Sophomore( 9U-10U)

  • Original copy of brith certification for all player before first practice

Rosters submitted to 1 week prior first Practice

Team Roster Size

It is recommended that youth football clubs adopt a roster limit of a maximum 30 players per team with a minimum of 15 players for all teams. The ideal number is between 18 to 22 players.

Player Participation Rule

Kids register to play football, not to practice all week so they can watch their teammates compete on game day.. Every player deserves the opportunity to apply in a game what they learned at practice.

The following policy is a recommendation from Indiana AAU Youth Football Association and works in conjunction with our recommendation on team roster size. The purpose of the rule is to allow every registered participant the opportunity to have a position on the field.

The basics of the rule include:

• The ideal number of players per team roster is 22

• Participants must have a position on either the offensive or defensive side of the football

• Every 2 Games each player need to play. All players on the sideline on game 1 and 2 must start in game 3.

Example: Team A has a roster of 18 players. Team A starters the same players in game 1 and game 2 when game 3 starts the seven players who were on the sidelines must start in game 3. Play at least a full Quarter. Play-off, state and national games not include.

SEASON

  • 1st practice is on July 25th
  • No practices is allow before July 25th
  • Team training starts on May 1st.
  • You can train before this date just Not as a team (no more than 5 athletes at a time) unless it's a camp or speed training
  • Parents Meeting All parent meets for Indiana AAU is on July 18th.

GAMES

games can be held on Wednesdays,Saturday,Sunday

  • 1st game is September 4th
  • Last game is November 6th
  • Playoff began November 13th

Practices

  • Up to 4 practice a week
  • Practices is no longer than 2 hours and have to be done by 8:30pm
  • Contact is reduce to 60mins within 3 practice 4th practice only shoulder pads and helmets injury prevention (required by USAFootball) (Grant purposes)

COACHES

All coaches have to:

  • Have a Team parent meeting (can't include Indiana AAU parent meeting)
  • Turn in all require documentation prior to first practice
  • Have to have age base certification, head up, tackle, block, Awareness of concussions,and heat prevent certification ( USAFOOTBALL)
  • Must complete coaching course from Positive Coaching Alliance get their from Website
  • Must attend all meeting for the IAAUYFA travel league

Equipment

All equipment giving to a Club or Association is Indiana AAU Youth Football Association property. All property of Indiana AAU Youth Football Association needs to be turned in after the last game of the season.

  • The Number of Shoulder pad and helmets needed for an association needs to be turned in by June 1st to Indiana AAU Youth Football Association.
  • All Clubs need to policy for equipment return.
  • All Clubs need to keep track and record of equipment hand out.

All Indiana AAU Associations(club) can purchase the equipment

  • Indiana AAU Youth Football Association will sell equipment to Association or teams half of the price of retail cost.
  • Purchase form needs to be turned in to IAAUYFA treasure Jan Dixon no later than June 1st.
  • If a team or Association purchase their equipment player would only pay $115 for registration.

Money breakdown

Each Association or club needs to have their own bank account, provide Indiana AAU Youth Football Association treasure with account information. For tax purposes if you’re an Indiana AAU Teams

  • Association are allowed to do their own fundraiser and get their own sponsorship and grants using Indiana AAU 501(c)3.
  • If there is an donations or grant awarded to that association an donations form needs to be turned in to Indiana AAU Youth Football Association treasure explaining the amount granted and a small report on what you use the money for. (National AAU football policy)
  • Indiana AAU have to turned in forms to national chair about all donations use under our 501(c)3.
  • The 3rd fundraiser that Indiana AAUYFA has is for Indiana AAU Association or clubs. 80% of the 3rdfundraiser money will be put into Association bank account for any use. 20% of the 3rdfundraiser will be for Indiana AAU to help with operational costs.

Example if club A raise more fund than club B, Club B can not borrow any money from any association what each association made is only grant to the club that raised it. If Club A raised $10,000 Indiana AAU will deposit $8,000 into club A bank account and $2,000 will be for Indiana AAU operational cost.

Indiana AAU Youth Football Association Athletes Code of Conduct

• I am accountable for the results of my behavior toward my teammates, coaches and game officials.

• I will respect other players (including my teammates and my opponents), coaches and game officials at all times. When I score a touchdown, I will simply hand the ball to the official before celebrating with my teammates.

• When I make a great play, I will not embarrass my opponent.

• I will honor the sport by playing within the rules during games and practices.
• I will respect the game and not use foul language at any time.
• I agree to put my team first and put forth my best effort on the field in support of team goals.

• I agree to give my best effort in the classroom and listen to my teachers.

Indiana AAU Youth Football Association Coaches Code of Conduct

• I agree to conduct myself in a positive manner toward my players, coaches, parents and game officials at all times.

• I will respect players, coaches, parents and game officials at all times.

• I will develop a coaching philosophy that embraces fundamentals, organization, life lessons and friendships versus a “win at all cost” mentality.
• I will remember that kids register to play football because it is fun. Every child should have the opportunity to play.

• I will support and respect all decisions made by the game officials and refrain from outward criticism.

• I am responsible to understand the rules of the game and abide by those rules at all times.

• I will support the integrity of the game and make game decisions in line with fair play and sportsmanship.

• I am responsible for completing my coaching education requirements and teaching the proper fundamentals.

• I will create a safe and positive environment for my players to learn how to play the game sport.

• I will listen to my fellow coaches and players regarding player safety, and when in doubt, I will sit them out of play.

• I will honor the game and my responsibility as a coach to provide a positive

experience for my team.

• I shall dress neatly and appropriately for every team practice and game.

Indiana AAU Youth Football Association Parents Code of Conduct

• I agree to support our team in a positive manner and showcase good sportsmanship toward all players, coaches, parents and game officials.

• I will respect the coaches’ commitment to coach my child and will not interfere with on-field instruction during practices or games.

• I will address any concerns with the head coach in private, away from the field and in a positive manner.

• I will support the coaches and do my best to ensure that my child arrives at practice and games on time.

• I will teach my child to play by the rules and respect teammates, opponents, game officials and coaches.

• I will cheer for our team in a positive manner regardless of the outcome of the game.

Indiana AAU Youth Football Association Game Officials Code of Conduct

• I understand that I bear a great responsibility for fostering public confidence in

sports.

• I shall be free of obligation to any interest other than the impartial and fair judging of sports competitions.

• I shall hold and maintain the basic tenets of officiating, which include history,

integrity, neutrality, respect, sensitivity and professionalism.

• I shall master the rules of the game and the mechanics necessary to enforce the rules and shall exercise authority in an impartial, firm and controlled manner.

• I shall uphold the honor and dignity of the profession in all interactions with athletes, coaches, league administrators, colleagues, parents and the public.

• I shall display and execute superior communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.

• I recognize that anything that may lead to a conflict of interest, either real or

apparent, must be avoided. Gifts, favors, special treatment, privileges, employment or a personal relationship with an individual or team that can compromise the perceived impartiality of officiating must be avoided.

Building A Tradition
