Recruitment Events (Julie Wilcox)
Julie shared the recruitments events calendar with coordinators, reviewed the activities and presentations planned. Julie will send a message to coordinators with additional information and she also asked coordinators to review the dates and let her know who will be attending on behalf of each program.

Three Year Degree Programs (Susan Augustine)
Susan discussed the three year program directive and explained to coordinators that the programs are to be designed in coordination with post-secondary credit options, credit by exam, etc. to create options that enable students to complete the programs in three years. We are required to have 10% of our programs meet the directive by this October, and by 2014, 60% of our programs must include this option. She has a draft list of programs which may be able to offer a three year option and will be scheduling meetings with coordinators in those program areas.

Additional discussion included a concern that the post-secondary office staff members are not adequately advising students who may be interested in three year programs. A suggestion was made that the web page for high school guidance counselors also needs to include the three year program information so that they can better advise high school students interested in this option.

Joanne briefly mentioned that the options will create an environment in which we have more younger students in our programs. Julie is researching the success of younger students in college. There is little data to draw from, but it appears that they are doing well.

Curriculum Approval Chart (Susan)
Susan provided coordinators with an updated curriculum approval chart and asked them to contact her with any curriculum questions or assistance. She also asked them to contact her to discuss any plans they may have to articulation agreements. An articulation agreement web page is in process of development; all EHHS articulation agreements and the information and forms needed to create articulations will be posted.

Courses on Hold (Susan)
Susan shared a list of current courses on hold and discussed the criteria used to put a course on hold. If a course has not been offered in the past five years, it goes on the list. If the course has not been offered at the end of three additional years (eight total), the course is automatically inactivated by Curriculum Services. An updated list will be posted.

Completion of Undergraduate Programs (after students leave a program)(Kathy Zarges)
Kathy talked with coordinators about the challenges of having students return at a much later dates to complete their program of studies. Students are advised on a case by case basis, with consideration for the integrity of the program, accreditation, current process, etc. The recommended process for supporting these students is as follows:

·  Student is referred to professional advisor

·  Advisors works up a list of student’s past classes

·  Next advisor works up a list of current requirements

·  Student must meet the current university requirements to complete the program

·  Faculty member then evaluates the student’s course work and the current requirements and discusses this with advisor

·  The advisor works with faculty member to create a requirement sheet customized for the student to complete the program

Other information: advisors are contacting students with IN grades and reminding them of the IN and telling them to contact the instructors of the course with questions and to get the IN resolved.

Survey of Graduates (Joanne)
Joanne shared Graduate Follow-up Survey Results for all programs for students graduating in School Year 2010/11 and School Year 2011/2012. She pointed out some key areas and shared with coordinators that the Research Bureau would be working to better communicate with faculty when the survey is distributed in the future. They are also working on a plan to increase the response rate of the survey. Revised survey reports will be distributed to school directors with faculty names blacked out.
