Ultrapolymers extends its portfolio with Terluran® ABS grades from Styrolution

Augsburg, October 2012

Plastics distributor Ultrapolymers Deutschland GmbH (www.ultrapolymers.de) has extended its product portfolio with Terluran® ABS grades from Styrolution of Frankfurt am Main / Germany (www.styrolution.com). Terluran® GP-22 is an injection moulding grade with high resistance to impact and heat distortion. Terluran® GP-35, also for injection moulding, is noted for its easy-flow properties and is particularly suitable for parts with low wall thickness and long flow paths. Both are available in natural and black. A third product is the high-impact grade Terluran® HI-10 natural, suitable for injection moulding and extrusion. The broad area of application for these plastics includes domestic appliances and toys.

All three ABS grades are easy to process, require short cycle times and are suitable for the production of parts with high surface quality and high gloss. The natural colour versions are additionally noted for their homogeneous, very light intrinsic colour and are therefore particularly suitable for self-colouring by the processor. Furthermore, they allow tight tolerances to be adhered to. With the relevant Colorflexx® service package, also provided by Styrolution, Ultrapolymers offers its customers extensive help in the cost-efficient compliance with stringent application specifications.

The Terluran® ABS grades supplement Styrolution's styrenic polymers for which Ultrapolymers has been serving as a distributor for some time now. These include the high-impact, particularly UV-resistant Styrosun® polystyrene, the crystal-clear, impact-resistant PS microgranules and the highly transparent styrenic copolymers NK, NAS and Zylar®.

Ludwig Berger, Managing Director of Ultrapolymers Deutschland, commented: "We are very proud indeed that Styrolution has now entrusted us with the distribution of its Terluran® ABS grades in Germany. We will be dealing with large order volumes, and it is therefore a clear demonstration of the trust and confidence Styrolution has placed in our ability to meet the customers' strict demands. From our point of view, it enables us to round off our portfolio of high-grade engineering plastics, which also include polyamides from major manufacturers and compounds for virtually any application."

Terluran® is a trademark of Styrolution.
