Admissions Information

Notes from UC conference: Students are offered admission “conditionally” and must meet requirements in outlined in offer letter. (i.e. transcript deadlines, req’d testing, maintain GPA (1), etc). COST of Attendance (tuition/books/housing/expenses) is $33,600 on average, but will vary slightly at each campus due to housing costs, program fees, etc. See each campus’s financial aid web page for the actual cost to attend than campus.

For fall 2016 all campuses used wait lists and intend to do so for fall 2017 as well.The “SRV’16” information was obtained via Naviance Family Connection and represents SRVHS students who have been admitted to each UC between 2012 & 2016.

20% / Semester system. New Program: Earn two Bachelor of Science degrees: one in engineering, one in business, in one integrated program that can be completed in four years. Acceptance to
Comp. Sci. in L&S is as competitive as Electrical Engineering Comp. Sci in College of Engineering. Demonstrated achievement in Comp. Sci. is a plus on the application. New Data Sciences curriculum in fall 2017. Some applicants may be invited to send in Letters of Rec. to supplement their application. Letters of rec are OPTIONAL and should not be submitted w/o a request.

39% / Quarter system. New Majors: Cognitive Science, Gender, Sexuality & Women’s Studies, Cinema & Digital Media. Adding pre-health advising. First-year Aggie Connection-Interdisciplinary Frosh Seminar program. If selecting Engineering or Bio Science majors, designate also a major outside of either of these to be considered for alternate major.

69% / Semester system. Newest UC. Personal attention in new facilities! Undergraduate Research (REU) is big and available to Frosh. UCM is growing each year and plans to be at 10,000 in 2020. Biological Science is the #1 major. New Major: Global Arts and Studies. Apply Direct! Will be a part of the 2017 referral pool. New Computational & Data Sciences emphasis under App. Math Sci., B.S.
Riverside / 3.7

56% / Quarter system. Undergrad research w/ faculty. New BS Sustainability Studies. Digital Film & Theater Production-film or writing track. Clinical teaching facility comprised of 400+ community physicians. 1st public medical school on West Coast in more than 40 years. New Career Center. Medical Scholars program for accelerated Pre-med students. FastStart-intensive 5 wk incoming UCR frosh program for pre-med students.

Also, declare an alternate major (outside of school). New minor: Linguistics and Language and Speech Technologies. New major: Museum Studies emphasis in History of Art & Architecture, BA. Titanic researcher is an alum. 24/7 student communication w/his research vessel. #2 in world for # of Nobel Laureates.
Santa Cruz / 3.88

56% / Quarter system. School focus is on improving planet & lives of its inhabitants. Continued focus on Student Success and timely graduation. >70% of students involved in research. Strong prep for grad school and prof. schools and career prep. Cutting edge research opps. 1st year honors program (honors.ucsd.edu). Can apply undeclared. 10 residential colleges-housing.
