Amey Services Ltd working with Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out major Highway Improvement works on Bolebridge St and Victoria Rd Tamworth as we start work on a major investment scheme, to make significant improvements to the quality of the road network in the town centre.
The mainresurfacing works will commence on the morning of Monday 12thMarch 2018 for a period of approximately 8consecutive days.
During this time we will resurface the carriageway, reset the ironwork and replace the road markingson Bolebridge St, and will be resurfacing the Bus bays on Victoria Road
Due to the nature and scale of the surfacing, the material and plant to be used in an operation such as this, the full width of the road in the section of Bolebridge St which holds the taxi rank and the full width of Victoria Rd will be inaccessible by vehicles at any time with access on the footways only for pedestrians. This will also prevent vehicle access to George St and Market St. Restrictionswill be kept to a minimum and we will open access into the town as soon as possible.
At times during the process, a curing time for this specialist material will be required. During these times it may appear that no work is taking place yet access is being restricted. This is necessary to allow the cementitious carriageway surface to cure.
Pedestrian access to properties and businesses along the length of the works will be maintained at all times throughout the surfacing operation. Vehicular access will be severely restricteddependant on where the surfacing works are taking at any given time.
Unfortunately with any major highway works some disruption is unavoidable.We apologise in advance for any inconvenience these works may create, however these measures are essential for us to make such improvements to this route and we kindly ask for your patience during this time.
