Adoption of Agenda – Dave W. moved acceptance of agenda, Beth G. seconded. Carried.

  1. Business Arising from minutes – we have a loan of a deep fryer for Living History Weekend through Jon at Tall Tales
  2. Correspondence– None
  3. Living History Weekend – Angela listed where we could use additional volunteers and reminder every one of setup times and their duties. Team leaders are as follows: Reenactors – Beth, Gate – Don Bobier, Gift Shop – Betty Ann Bobier, Parking – Rob, Grounds – John, Saturday Dinner – Ken, Breakfasts – Janice, House – Delany, Barn – Ben, Food Booth – Catie If you have any questions during the event please go to the zone team leader. If they can’t answer then they will ask Angela.

  1. Cultural Manager’s Report

Barn

Mike Price has finished our railing in the barn. I’m looking for someone to make drawings of a barn lean to and the museum summer kitchen so we can begin getting quotes to apply for grants. It has been suggested we contact Fanshawe College and ask for a student.

Audio Tour

Is now available to download from our museum website. Please put it on your smartphone and test it out.

Speaker/Outreach/Education/Meetings

Aldborough PS Quarter Auction went well.

EON Meeting had over 20 people in attendance.

THS Members Social and Potluck was well attended for our first one. I recommend repeating next year.

WW1 Exhibit in St. Thomas will be set up again this weekend at Living History event.

Accessibility Customer Service Standards

This will be scheduled after this weekend’s event now that we have proper internet as well.

Invitation

Dan McKillop and LeeAnnEichenburger held a business breakfast on June 28 to get ideas for a joint advertising campaign to promote to their real estate clients. There were lots of ideas presented. Dan and LeeAnn will get back to us with some economical options.

Roofing

I am still waiting for one more quote to send to Rhonda so she can award the job. Any ideas for more roofers? We need to get this done ASAP. Ken will contact someone he knows tomorrow.

Board Members for 2017-2020

Please start thinking about next year’s elections and inviting people to sit on the board. Four current board members will be completing their terms and need to be replaced PLUS we’ll need executive positions filled.

August 3 Take a Walk on the Spirit Side – paranormal investigation $20/person only 8 tickets left

December 3 Dinner is sold out

December 4 Dinner we are already receiving inquiries about.

  1. Other Business– discussion to put a screen door on the carriage house office to keep out bugs in nice weather. Rob & Janice may have one that fits. Staff bathrooms light bulbs need replacing before Living History weekend. Rob may have light bulbs.
