1、General

Slip type elevators are for handling tubing and small casing in oil and gas drilling or workover operation to prevent bottlenecking and gauge damage, all the slip type elevator except dies are cast from high quality alloy steel, the dies are forged from high quality alloy steel. Slip type elevators have four slips to ensure optimum contact on pipes. Insert contact to pipes for YC elevators is 7", contact for HYC is 10½", contact for YT is 9", contact for HYT is 12"

Each slip type elevatoris constructed in two halves of practically the same weight, four slip bodies, inserts, latches, hinge pins, latch pins, latch locks, latch spring, compressive spring, compression plate, bolt and etc. and designed in line with API Spec 8A/8C.

3、USAGE AND OPERATION

1)Dismantle the bolt in block link, install smaller eyes of the elevator links to the ears of elevator, then install link block to the elevator with bolt and fix the split pin.

2)Open elevator and move the elevator to make tubular to be in the center of the equipment, then close the two main bodies, the lock assembly will lock automatically.

3)Lift the equipment until the tubular joint part press the setting ring; such can make the slips grip tubular.

4)Pull out the latch lock handle and open the elevator, the tubular can be move out of elevator.

Caution:

The elevator should be used under normal temperature as per the requirements of API Spec 8C. Should the temperature be below -20℃, the use of elevator should be prohibited.

The specifications of elevator and the corresponding outer diameter of tubular should be checked before any elevator is used; any use of non-standardized should be prohibited.

Before the elevator is used, it should be checked if the lock assembly can function normally and if the latch lock can be rotate to its position and if the property of block link is safe and reliable. The use of elevator should be prohibited if any abnormality of them can be found.

Any use of over rating load (the total of dynastic and static rated-load) on the elevator is prohibited; the operator shall be responsible for the safe working load.

When crack o is found in elevator, the use of elevator should be prohibited.

This elevator will be used only with those elevator links whose rated load is below 150t, oversized elevator link will cause damage.

Keep hands and fingers clear of the elevator bore when installing the elevator on the pip.

Elevators are manufactured to operate in a vertical direction and should never be used for lying down or pulling pipe horizontally.

Be sure not to use the old inserts with the new or the old slips with the new at the same time

4、MAINTENANCE

  1. Inspection, maintenance or repair to the elevator shall meet the requirements of SY/T6100-94 Usage and Maintenance of Well Drilling and Hoisting Equipment, and should be kept clean after being used every day.
  2. When the elevator is not used continuously, the processed part shall be coated with anti-rust grease.
  3. The grease fitting in the elevator must be filled grease once a month at least.
  4. Any elevator shall be checked during its being used, it should be checked if crack and over-abraded is found in elevator and if the parts are complete and if the elevator can function normally. Should crack and over-abraded is found in any spare part of elevator, the product should be checked, repaired and replaced in any capable workshop.
  5. After each operation of well-drill, the elevator should be discharged, and the body, door and latch of the elevator should be Non-destructive tested, and any crack is prohibited found in them. Other parts can be eye-inspection. Should any crack or over-abraded is found in spare parts, they shall be replaced, otherwise, the elevator is forbidden to be used.
  6. Any inspection, maintenance and repair shall be recorded.
  7. Without the technical literature offered by our company, welding the elevator is prohibited, unless the repairer can meet the requirements of SY/T6357-1998 Inspection, Maintenance and Repair Procedure of Hoisting Equipment and API RP 8B Recommended Method for Inspection, Maintenance of Hoisting Equipment, the elevator can be repaired by them.
  8. Except the two bodies and latch, others are spare parts, and their names, codes can be referred to chart 1 and chart 2. We have prepared interchangeable spare parts for customers' selection.

5、TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

  1. The elevators should avoid collision and drenching.
  2. The elevators should be stored in dry and ventilated places, sun-dry and drenching are prohibited. And they are forbidden to contact erosive materials like acid, alkali and saline.

6、OTHERS

  1. On condition that the product is normally stored and used, we responsible for exchange for maintenance without any claim due to the manufacture quality which has interfere with the normal usage for 12 months form the date of commissioning or 18 months from date of shipment.
  2. Each product has its Quality Certificate, Load List and Usage Instruction.
  3. Customers can select our products according to the sizes, specifications and max rating load in chart 1 and chart 2.
  4. Except the main body and door, others are venerable spare parts. Customers can select what they want as per the serial numbers, names of the spare parts referred to chart Ⅲ and figure Ⅰ, or the elevator size and max loads.
  5. We can design and manufacture various non-standard elevators for our customers as well as elevators for special purpose such as elevator used under the temperature of from -20℃ to -40℃ to satisfy our customer’s requirements.
