Twilight session:
Session objectives
●  To introduce the framework of the Welsh Bacc
●  To develop an understanding of the Global Citizenship Challenge and the key skills that are developed in this section of the WBQ
●  To help teachers consider what sort of activities might be useful to help pupils engage critically with the key skills
·  To consider different resources and stimuli.
Resources
●  PowerPoint projection and internet facility
●  Powerpoint on Global Learning and the WBQ (need internet for video)
●  Hand-out – Lesson Plan 1
●  Hand-out – Lesson Plan 2
Lead School Coordinator to ask Network schools to bring along examples of lessons or SOWs focused on global issues, in particular Fair Trade

1. Welcome, introduction activity / 5
2. What is the WBQ and how does it support Global Learning?
How can KS2 and KS3 programmes of study support WBQ skills development?
WBQ and Global Citizenship PowerPoint / 45 / Some colleagues, especially in the Primary Sector may not know what the WBQ is and how it is relevant to them.
Activity 1 – Discuss in groups how each schools curriculum incorporates the approaches specified in the WBQ
Activity 2 – Watch Video
Activity 3 -
-  Discuss how the resources on Fair Trade can be adapted to fit WBQ tasks
-  Look at the lesson plans. Which WBQ tasks do they best fit?
-  Can they be easily adapted to fit WBQ tasks and criteria?
3. Action Plan / 10 minutes / Colleagues to plan what they can do to audit current provision of the task approaches.
Can colleagues make use of the Fair Trade resources?
