Tutorial to Use Webct

WebCT Tutorial: Prepared by Karthikeyan Balasundaram & Sridhar Ramachandran (Dec 2002)

WebCT is tool that allows students to better utilize the course recourses. This tutorial will guide beginners into using and exploring this facility.

Follow the Steps given below

1.  Go to “Internet Explorer” => type www.wright.edu

2.  Click on the WebCT icon (Left hand Menu has it)

3.  The WebCT page opens www.wisdom.wright.edu

4.  Click on the “ Logon WebCT “ to proceed

5.  Login with your paladin user ID and password.

6.  Now follow through the pictorial guide in this tutorial to learn more

Step 1 and 2

Observe the ROX | WebCT link on the Left-hand side Menu

Step 3 and 4:

WebCT is a secure connection and needs User Id and password authentication to allow use. By Default WebCT is enabled to accept your paladin User ID and password.

Once logged-in you should see a display similar to the one below

This is the WebCT homepage where-from you can access and avail the online resources.

Click on the links to Explore. A summary of links on the home page is given herewith.

Resources on the homepage:

1)  Course Content and Related Materials

It has different sections:

a)  Calendar – It gives update of your exam and submission days.

b)  Syllabus – It gives the course syllabus

c)  Schedule – It gives the course schedule

d)  Notes_password_ceg360 – It has important notes for lab4

e)  Timing Tutorial – It talks about timing related issues.

2)  Communication Tools – Your TA will discuss about this in class

3)  Grades – It displays your grade(as and when updated)

4)  Instructor website – It links to the instructor’s website

5)  GTA’s website – It gives you the office hours for the TAs of this course
