  • Admission processstarted after declaration of UGAT,PGAT results from July to September.

  • Golden Voice Competition

On 05.08.2016 the audition for 92.7 Big FM ‘Golden Voice Competition’ was held in the College. Twenty six students participated and seven were selected for the next round. The selected students were- Aradhana Verma, Shweta Shukla, Vandana Rai, Khushi Pathak, Shivani Malviya, Shikha Mishra and Vaishali Yadav. Two students Shivani Malviya and Shikha Mishra were invited for stage performance at “ North Central Zone Cultural Centre”. Principal of the College Dr. Urmila Srivastava welcomed the guests. The Chairman of the College Governing Body, Shri Pankaj Jaiswal inspired the students to participate in such programmes which help in all round personality building. Shri P.N. Mishra ,Treasurer, Governing Body said that such programmes provide a platform where students can showcase their talents.

  • Clean City Green City

On 08.08.2016a programme on Clean City Green City was organized in the College. Sushree Sushma from Prajapita Bhramkumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya spoke on ‘ Clean City Green City’ and ‘ Swacch Mann to Swacch Bharat’ Sushree Sushma ji said that we should keep our surroundings neat and clean to help us to live healthy and better lives. She also said that plastic bags should be banned. Littering which causes land, air and water pollution should be controlled. Planting of trees and plants beautify our surroundings as well as keep us healthy.

  • Rakhi making Competition

On 09.08.2016 ‘Rakhi Making Competition’ was organized in the College. Fourtyseven students participated in the competition. Rakhis made by students were sent to men army posted on the borders. The following students won prizes:

  • Bhajan Competition

Arya Kanya Degree College in collaboration with ‘Shri Krishna Shiksha evam Sanskriti Pracharini Sabha’ organized a Bhajan competition on 10.08.2016 in the College. The Chief Guest was Prof. Mridula Tripathi Ex-Dean, Arts Faculty Allahabad University. Addresing the students she said that Shri Krishna and his teachings are as relevant and important in the present contemporary age as they were in the ancient past. She further said that the battle of Mahabharat not only instilled faith in religion but also in peace. The Chairperson of the College Governing Body Shri Pankaj Jaiswal in his speech said that the life and teachings of Shri Krishna are worth emulating. Principal Dr. Urmila Srivastava welcomed the guests and Vice Principal Dr. Rama Singh proposed the vote of thanks. The judges were Dr. Pramiti Choudhury, Dr. Madhu Shukla, Smt. Asha Srivastava. There were five teams and twelve participants. The following students won prizes :

  • Independence Day

Flag hoisting on 15.08.2016 by Shri Pankaj Jaiswal Chairperson, Governing Body of the College along with Principal, teachers, students and staff.

  • P.G. Classes

On 23.08.2016 the first session of P.G. Classes in Four subjects – Music Vocal, Sanskrit, Sociology and Political Science started in the College. The session started with vedic chants and havan Dr. Uttama Yati of Arya Samaj, Ajmer conducted the ‘ Havan’ amidst vedic chanting. Addresing the students she emphasized the importance of higher education of girls. The Chairperson of the College Governing Body Shri Pankaj Jaiswal graced the occasion and said that the P.G. classes are a step further towards theacademic growth the College. The Principal Dr. Urmila Srivastava, Vice Principal Dr. Rama Singh staff and students were present on the occasion.

  • Career Councelling Programmes

On 24.08.2016 Career Councelling session was conducted in the College under the aegis of ‘Seva Yojna Paramarsh Shakha’. Shri Lal Chand Singh, Allahabad University Dr. Jitendra Pandey Councellor, D.N. Yadav Counsellor Assistant guided the students regarding various career options. He said that every students faces a common question. What career do I take up? This is where career counseling starts with understanding individual career choices, areas of strength as well as areas of improvement. Once that has been done, career route is charted out and a person can pursue ones career goals with focus and dedication.

  • Teachers Day

Teachers Day was celebrated in the College on 05.09.2016.

  • Hindi Diwas

‘Hindi Diwas’ was observed in the College on 14.09.2016. Shri Prakash Mishra, journalist and renowned litterateur spoke on ‘ Hindi ki Vartmaan Sthiti’. He said that Hindi has no difference between writing and speaking so it is more scientific and easy to use.

  • Inauguration of Committee Room

Kunwar Reoti Raman Singh M.P. Rajya Sabha inaugurated the newly constructed committee room on 18.09.2016. He extended his blessings and wishes to the students. The Chairperson of the Governing Body Shri Pankaj Jaiswal welcomed the honourable guests.

  • Dress Designing Course

Dress Designing Course has been started in the College on 03.10.2016 to 10.01.2017.Mrs. Vandana gave training to the students. 20 students got training in the course.

  • Lecture on ‘Mahila Asmita ki Raksha’

A seminar on ‘Mahila Asmita ki Raksha’ was organized in the College on 05.10.2016 by Technical and Industrial Training Centre, Naini, Allahabad. The Chief Guest of the seminar was Shri Vivek Dwivedi, member of the organization who were present on the occasion- Shri Ashish Johari, Shri Anup Mishra and Shri Manoj Kumar Mishra expressed their views and said that such seminars should be organized more frequently. The Chief Guest Shri Vivek Dwivedi while expressing his views said that although in the Indian society women are progressing yet incidents of atrocities are also on the rise. Therefore protection should be given to women and treated equally with men in every sphere of life and society. Vice Principal Dr. Rama Singh in her welcome address said that self determination plays an important role in the progress of women.

  • ‘Mahila Asmita Raksha Abhiyan’

On 20.10.2016 the College organized a seminar on ‘Mahila Asmita Raksha Abhiyan’ in collaboration with Industrial and Technical Training Centre, Allahabad. Dr. Jitendra Pandey encouraged the students towards character building. He said the students will have to search for the positive qualities in their own selves. Dr. Prithvipati Chaurasiya emphasized on character building. He said discipline is very important for the character building. He also emphasized on good health as the main requirement for a disciplined life which will no doubt lead one towards success.

Under the aegis of ‘Pahal’ programme of Amar Ujala the college organized a seminar on ‘Mahila Suraksha evam Samman’ on 7th November 2016. In her welcome address the Principal Dr. Urmila Srivastava said that the students should be aware of ways of self defence. Dr. Rama Singh, Vice Principal discussed the ill effects of western culture. Women will have to be physically as well as mentally strong. Shri Avinash Srivastava said that the Constitution has laid down many rules and rights for women but women themselves will have to be bold enough to face the challenges and problems in their lives.

  • YogaCamp
    A Yoga Camp was organized in the college from 21.10.2017 to 25.11.2017. Around 40 Students participated in this camp. Yoga is an art which connects our soul, body and mind together. Human beings are made up of these three components. Corresponding these there are three needs health, knowledge and inner peace. Health is physical need, knowledge is phychological need and inner peace is spiritual need. When all three are present there is harmony. Through meditation inner peace is experienced. Thus yoga is a practical philosophy involving every aspect of a person’s being, teaches. Teaches the evolution of the individual by developing self awareness.
  • One Day Training Programme

A one day training programme on “Rights of Women” sponsored by National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), New Delhi, was organized at Arya Kanya Degree College on 26.10.2016. About 100 students from Arya Kanya Degree College, S.S.Khanna Girls Degree College, Rajarshi Tandon Degree College, Hamidia Girls Degree College, Ishwar Sharan Degree College, Jagat Taran Degree College, C.M.P. Degree College, E.C.C., M.G.C.G.V.V. Chitrakoot, Satna and Allahabad Universtiy participated in this programme.

The inaugural session commenced with the lighting of the lamp followed by a beautiful raindering of Ish Vandana a welcome song and a dance drama presenting the glimps of cultural variety of India. The Chairperson of College Sri Pankaj Jaiswal welcome the guest apprising them about the role of Arya Samaj & Swami Dayananda in the pregress of society. He said Swami Dayananda belived the upliftment of women through education. He said this is a girls institution and girls should be aware of there rights until and unless they are aware of rights the society cannot progress.

The Principal of the College Dr. Urmila Srivastava welcomed the Chief Guest, distinguished guest, speakers and the participants of the various institutions. She talked about the position of women in the Vedic age when the Indian culture belived in ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’ but gradually the situation is changed and the need of the hour is to sensitize women towards their rights in society. Keeping this in mind training programme has been organized in the College. Dr. Rama Singh Convener of the workshop introduced the topic of the programme and said that the personality development rights as well as duties are necessary, but we only talk about rights. In great detail she discussed about the articles of Indian Constitution in different conventions of UNO. For empowerment of women it is important for them to participate in policy making in private and public sectors and also to participate in politics.

Prof. Uma Kant Yadav Sanskrit Department A.U. applauded the students for the beautiful cultural presentation. He also pressed the College and the potential of the students.

The special Guest of Honour of the inaugural session Prof. Krishna Gupta Ex. Head, Department of Political Science. A.U,. enlightened the audience on rights of women and elaborated on Individual rights to Human rights. She talk about different conventions and conferences, but it was only from the 90s that on the International and National platforms in Human rights women rights are also included. She spoke about violence against women which starts from family in the form of foeticide. Law making is important but implementation is need of the present time. Formal declarations are not enough women themselves will have to come forward in an organized manner.

Chief guest Prof. Rajendra Prasad, Vice Chancellor, Allahabad State University, Allahabad talked about the different aspects of Human rights like moral, philosophical, social and economic among them the philosophical aspect is very important. We should make Human right away of life. The inaugural session was conducted by Dr. Ibha Sirothia and the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Sandhya Srivastava.

In the second technical session the main speakers were CEO, Daraganj, Sri Ganesh Saha and Anshul Pandey, Incharge of Mahila Thana. Shri Ganesh Saha discussed the practical problems and situations they face. Knowledge is essential for protection for crime. He asked the students to be smart not only in appearance but also in thoughts and actions. The speech was followed by a healthy interactive session by the participants. The sessions was conducted by Dr. Madhurima Varma and vote of thanks given by Dr. Renu Jain.

The Third technical session continued with the discussion on rights of women the main speaker Dr. Sangita Srivastava, Associate Professor and HOD, Home Science Dept. A.U. and Chairperson CASH and member governing body, Arya Kanya Degree College she talk on Discrimination against women and problem and protection of women against domestic violence.

Third technical session was welcomed by Dr. Rama Singh conducted by Dr. Mamta Gupta and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Ila Malviya.

The welcoming of the guest of the valedictory session was by Dr. Urmila Srivastava. Prof. Harsh Kumar, Allahabad University the guest of Honour of the session in his lecture said about women empowerment in ancient india. Ms. Ritandhara, Advocate, District Court, Allahabad spoke on Sexual Harassment of women at Workplace and complaints mechanism Reproductive and Maternal health and Nutritional deficiencies among women.

  • Essay Competition

An essay competition was organized in the college on 27.10.2016 sponsored by Prakash Chandra Jugmandar Das Agrawal Lokhit Trust, The topic of the essay was “ “ In this competition students of Allahabad university and all the Coustituent college of Allahabad university, Kulbhaskar Ashram Degree College, Mahila Seva Sadan Degree college participated.

  • ‘Mahila Sashaktikaran mein ek Sakaratmak Pahal’

On 08.11.2016 fiftyfive students of the college participated in a seminar organized by 1090 Power line under Reserve Police Lines. The Topic of the seminar was ‘Mahila Sashaktikaran mein ek Sakaratmak Pahal’ SSP Shalabh Mathur and DIG Vijay Yadav were present on the occasion and addressing the students asked them ‘not to bear’ the atrocities on them in society. He further said that violence on women are on the rise in present day society and women will have to be aware to curb these evils of society and the importance of such lie in the fact that they sensitize women and make them aware to face difficult situations in life. Fourty students were selected to be trained as ‘Power Angel Pari’.
