Parent(s) or Legal Guardian(s) should provide the following information to enroll a student.
- Proof of Immunization
- Proof of Legal Residence
- Home Ownership Title 2. Deed to Property
3. Property Tax Notice 4. Lease/Rental Agreement
AND a copy of current utility bill (i.e. power, gas, water)
- P.O. Box Address may be used for your mailing address but NOT for a residence address.
- Notarized statements may NOT be used to establish a legal residence.
- A cell phone bill is NOT an acceptable form of proof of legal residence.
- Transcript of grades or recent report card
(The enrolling school may contact the former school for grade placement). - Birth Certificate or other document for age verification purposes in kindergarten and 1st grade. (Examples: U.S. or foreign birth certificate; religious, hospital, or physician’s statement; baptismal certificate; adoption record; previously verified school records; or other record acceptable to the school principal). Failure of the parent or legal guardian to provide a birth certificate will not deny, nor delay, a student’s enrollment.
- Completed Enrollment/Transfer Form
Students may NOT enroll who are currently suspended or expelled from their previous school.
Guardianship or Custody Transfers to a person(s) in the school zone:
The guardian/custodian of the child must provide the original copy of the court ordered decree transferring guardianship or custody. The order must be executed by the appropriate state court and probated. If the child is from out-of-state, the school will accept the court ordered decree from the court of jurisdiction over the child. Notarized statements from the legal guardian/custodians will NOT be accepted. Power of Attorney will NOT be accepted. Students must reside in zone with guardians/custodians the majority of the week.
Alabama High School Athletic Association Transfer Rule:
Custody or legal guardianship transfer with anyone will NOT establish immediate athletic eligibility. Unless a parent or guardian makes a bona fide move, the student must complete one calendar year in attendance to establish athletic eligibility.
Copies of Court Ordered Custody Agreements:
Copies of court ordered custody agreements restricting visitation from non-custodial parent(s) must be filed in the main office.
